They all sound very unhelpful, it's ok saying it's part of PTSD if they then give you something to help but just to write it off like that sounds very un-professional..

I know what you mean about the lack of energy, can be very frustrating can't it ?? i think that has aided my lack of concentration.. everything then just seems like a catch 22 situation and can be really hard to break..

Yeah. It makes me feel rejected in a sense, but I know that is my BPD talking. Gosh. I'm like a walking mental health leaflet.lol.

It can be so frustrating. I get so tearful and little things make me burst into tears. Doing little every day tasks is such a big thing now and because of lack of sleep I am a danger to myself, and those around me and I would never want to compromise anyone else's health.

Ah, a catch 22 it most certainly is.

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Please tell me to shut up if you like.lol.
    I'm 21. :)

A walking mental health leaflet - lol.. that is certainly a new term..

Why is it we worry so much about other people when depressed ? have never been able to figure that one out..

I don't mind you asking my age - i'm 40.. i nearly mentioned on the thread earlier as someone said they thought everyone on this thread was 21 - lol
What came first, the music or the misery? Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

Lol. I like to create new phrases. :D

I have no idea about the worrying thing. I do it too. I worry about everything and everyone - even more so when I'm depressed. I tend to have this thing where I want to help everyone, regardless of who they are and whether they have hurt me. Janette said it could be damaging because I try to fix everyone else and then forget about myself. I find that a lot of people only want to know me on my good days though. When I'm down, they don't want to know, which makes me worry about not being likeable and then the cycle begins.

I think there are a lot of varied ages on this thread - including irregular posters too. :) Age is just a number.lol.

Age is just a number these days your quite correct :D

Again, that must be very frustrating when your friends only want to know you during the up period, maybe that's why i shut everyone out at all times so it doesn't happen.. though i know it's not good for helping..

I tend to do that a lot now. There are only two people I would trust with my life. It takes me years to be able to trust someone, and that trust is so easily taken away again. I've had it happen in the past. I opened up to my ex about my mental health. I trusted him and he used the things he knew about me to abuse me. I'm still getting over that.
I occasionally let people in but it has to be someone very special to me. Sometimes people are surprised to get some sort of emotion out of me as I usually don't talk about my feelings with friends or my project worker. My project worker was surprised when I had a little ranting outburst because everything was getting to me and I couldn't take it so I had a mini rant.lol.

Not letting people in can be unhelpful, but I can see how it can be helpful too sometimes. You don't let people in, and then they don't have the chance to hurt you. That's what I've learnt.

I'm going to try and catch some ZZZZs now (try being the operative word.lol.) but I'll hopefully pick up your reply in the morning. I hope you manage to get some sleep. You must be shattered. [[hugs]]

Hope you manage to get some sleep :D - i'm gonna try myself shortly ans see what happens.. yeah your right, i am shattered but kinda got used to feeling like this..

Your lucky to have a couple of people who you can trust, and your ex doesn't sound like a nice person if he could use your mental health against you - i could understand if you never trusted anyone again after something like that..

Totally agree about the letting people in, very unhelpful not too but very helpful as they can't hurt you, judge you or let you down when you need them.. Still trying to work on that aspect of my life..
