I am not having a good day, just found out that i will take a BIG drop in income when my youngest leaves school. At the moment i get widowed parents allowance and i thought once that stopped i would get a widows pension but apparently things have changed and i won't get anything.Luckily my son is stopping on another two years for A levels but i do not know how i will manage.I work 30 hrs a week and even if i worked full time i have no chance of making up the differance. To top it all just been stung by a massive blumming wasp.I went to the shop and it must have flown into my shopping bag because as i took my shopping out it stung me.It is ok now i put some viniger on but it was a shock.
It looks like I am in the same boat as you but without the children bit. I received a letter this weekend letting me that my Bereavement allowance finishes next month and guess what no widows pension. I am 56 and it appears they abolished it in 2001 but they kept that fact well hidden. I forced myself to get a part time job even though it was the last thing I needed at this present time and by the looks of it it will be my only income. Are they trying to drive us to join our husbands and therefore save on paying us our pensions as well. they took all my husbands tax and insurance whilst he was alive so where is it now. It used to be used to pay us widows obviously it is now used to decorate some private office or other of the ruling class.

I am in shock I have started smoking again after giving up again a month ago and am back on Valium I see no happy ending here.

I have come to the conclusion that the assembly of lawnmowers is evil and they should all come ready assembled from the manufacturers/shop. I'm getting so frustrated, so I have decided that if I smile sweetly at the plumbers when they next come they might help me.lol.

    Ive had an interesting day....

Got my work done by 12, so spent most of rest of day doing nothing :rotfl::T

Walked round the shop abit, got a phone call from stock control, funny phone call, and then i decided to ring the customer services, oh the phone call was funny, i always seem to make her laugh, which is great, but she thought i was drunk :rotfl:, which i wasnt. She knows me by rosie now, when people ring they know to ask for me :rotfl::rotfl:, I love it when the boss is away :p

Bad thing is ive done something to my legs, hurts to walk, hurts to bend, hurts in general :o

    Hope your all ok tonight
