    Hi Tiff :hello: and everybody

    You don't miss much!;)

    LadyM

When I heard you were not "allowed" a toothbrush I wanted to (metaphorically) rip someone's ears off and stuff them down their throats.

You are a lovely girl and if your family has any sense they would be proud of you.

I hope the day is not as awkward as you think it will be.

When I heard he had kicked you!!!!!

Could you go away for a short holiday on your own just to give yourself a chance to think?

Nice to see Ethel back and I hope she is feeling better.

Need to go out soon but wanted to send a quick hug.

Heya Elona. How are you today?

My family aren't very nice people. I think the reason I try to take really good care of my teeth now is because I have been in a position where I didn't have a choice and couldn't look after them before. So now I guard them with my life. :)

I hope your teeth are absolutely beautiful when the brace comes off and that you have lots to smile about in the future.

Thanks hun. :) I can't wait to be metal free. Then I will have a plastic mouth for a few months because I'll have to wear a retainer. :rotfl:

Hadn't looked at this bit of the site before but I'm glad I've found it now.

I have worked at my job for 7 years and the past 5 have been under a woman boss who when she is good is absolutely great, supportive, fun and good to work work. When she is bad she is the witch woman from hell! Unfortunately I'm the one who has been at the brunt of a lot of her yelling and moaning. A couple of years ago she yelled at me in a full office and it took a week for her to apologise, during which time I was in bits but I got over it. In January this year our oldest friend died suddenly and I didn't take it very well. Just after this she started to get picky again. My job has changed from a secretarial role to an office administrator role, which in itself is no bad thing but she keeps rubbing it in that I'm on a higher salary than the other administrators (only because my secretarial job was higher and they couldn't lower my salary).

About a month ago I became quite stressed and was feeling very down, our friend's death and her picking had got to me. I went to my GP and was diagnosed with work related stress and last week also high blood pressure. On Wednesday I had a slight panic attack on the way into work and had to come home. I felt dreadful and have been off since. I tried to go back today but she totally blanked me and I had the start of another attack so I've come home.

I'm so fed up. I need to work but my job that I once loved is now a miserable place to be. I have to give 2 months notice if I leave and at the moment there are no jobs around. I've decided to bite the bullet and look for a part time job and have to take my company pension early. I'm supposed to be going to Spain in 2 weeks time with my daughter and now I'm terrified the doctor won't let me fly plus if he signs me off sick what will or can the company do to me if I do go away.

I haven't felt so low about working for years and I'm beginning to feel my age (56!). I know life is too short to let work worry me but I can't help it. Anyone got any advice?

    Hi and welcome:)

Inconsistent bosses - they are dreadful. I had a similar one. She was like a sweet old lady and really nice then would get you when you felt low, she seemed to know. I was in that job for two years and she blocked any promotion I was wanting. It was a very well paid job so stayed purely for the money until I could take no more.

I tried to talk to her but it didn't make any difference. She would be OK then revert. I had a lovely boss in the job I had before and the morale was brilliant.

I ended up having to take sick leave due to the stress, then left - it builds up and if you don't get out before it affects your health, it can get nasty.

You need look after yourself, you have already decided to quit the job. If you need to finish earlier, tell your doctor why. You sound to need the break and not go back to the job afterwards.

I didn't tell anyone the real reason for me leaving, in those days, mental stress wasn't taken seriously. I was off sick with a physical problem which people did take seriously but not once did I mention any stress.

Your boss needs to be told why you are leaving and action be taken to reprimand her - so much money is lost due to bad bosses and the associated sick leave it generates. It makes my blood boil.

My OH quit his job for the same reason, his female boss was picky too and whatever I say about him, he is good at his job.

The plumbers didn't turn up today, and I didn't have the energy to text them, as stupid as that sounds. Why should I be chasing after them when the leak isn't even my fault? I know they are most likely busy but even just a little text to say they can't make it today would have been sufficient. Instead, I have been waiting in all day for them when I could have been out in the sunshine as I am feel ok-ish today. Now, I might have to go out tomorrow, which will be horrendous if I'm having a bad day, and then knowing my luck the plumbers will turn up when I'm out. =/

Have just got back from GP. He's not my usual one and was quite rushed with me but has signed me off to return to work the day that I'm due to go on hols. He has said it is OK for me to fly and to go away, so that's good. He also said I need to speak to my boss, so I told him she's part of the problem!

Anyway I don't go back to work till 27 May now so at least I have got longer to get myself together and to find someway of getting to grips with all of this. I'm going to give myself a task to do each day and try and write down my feelings and what has caused me to get into this dreadful state.

I make greetings cards so my first task is to try and make at least 10 cards by the end of this week!
