same sort of q as bigjeff and sorry if I am thick: if you unlock the phones for use on any UK network can you then use them in France or anywhere else?

My french Orange phone was cable unlocked in a FT store but haven't tried it here on PAYG in the UK yet as my free Virgin SIM has not arrived.

Q: when you say unlock, do you mean unlock for any country, any network or are there any exceptions?

Thank you, merci and gracias ;-) you are ******s ,er, that's meant to be stars :T not expletive-deleteds ;)

Is it possible to unlock the Sagem My-X2 from Vodafone PAYG to sim free? I've heard a data cable may be required if so how do I get one and how much do they cost?

    Many thanks
If only I'd found this site sooner!!

any unlocked phone will work anywhere (as long as the country has the correct waveband)

Hi, this is my first post so don't shout at me please ;)

Could anyone throw any light on my problem? Got a SAgem MYC2-3 locked to T-Mobile. I just took it to an unlocking store, went back a couple of hours later and was told he couldn't unlock it, the guy said something like "you could read to it but not write to it" I asked if they'd unlocked them before and he said yes, to which I said, why wouldn't mine unlock....his reply was, if he knew the answer to that, he'd be able to unlock it

    Any advice please.....thanksin advance.

yes, they can be unlocked with the correct equipment, i've done loads. some box's can only unlock certain ht's so try another shop. the read and write bit is rubbish.

Got a Motorola Razr V3 from a friend and worked. Got it unlocked & tried with a Vodafone Sim but it would only send/receive texts and the phone says "call barring"?

Tried my usual 02 sim and reads "unregistered sim"?

    Any suggestions????
