    I don't condone tax evasion but I don't see why you have a vendetta.

    He let you move in without a deposit and you are so angry at him?

    the rent book is the TENANTS proof that they have paid the rent - keep it, or tell him you lost it - if he takes you to court for non-payment how can you prove you paid the rent in cash if you dont have a rent book ??? tenants how pay via S/O have bank statements as proof - tenants who pay in cash need a rent book signed on each payment to prove they paid.
  • You know what his income is, your rent payments, but you don't know what legitimate expenses he may have to off set against the income. he may have a net loss for all you know. Stop jumping to conclusions.
