the rent book is the TENANTS proof that they have paid the rent - keep it, or tell him you lost it - if he takes you to court for non-payment how can you prove you paid the rent in cash if you dont have a rent book ??? tenants how pay via S/O have bank statements as proof - tenants who pay in cash need a rent book signed on each payment to prove they paid.0

You know what his income is, your rent payments, but you don't know what legitimate expenses he may have to off set against the income. he may have a net loss for all you know. Stop jumping to conclusions.0
