I remember my daughter once when he was about 4,i remember her more than that really but anyway, she came running in saying "look what i got mummy" and there she about 20 snails stuck all up her arms:eek: . She then put them in a shoe box with some grass and took them to bed. When she got up the nxt morn she could not understand where they had all gone:rotfl: Sky are those my daughters snails youve got?

    Dave, can gerbils be castrated?
We had 2 girls, but one died, we got a replacement and we thinks it's a boy, judging by the way he's humping the other one. I can handle one litter, but I read that once they get started there's no stopping them, so if possible i'd like to get the little chap done.

    TIA

These are the giant african land snails. And I am trying to get rid of them...........

Before she got the snails, she found just the one in the garden and it was her new best friend. She wanted him to come to bed with her, but I wouldn't let her....
I found the snail that evening, in her jean pocket. AFTER I heard the crack when the iron went on the now clean jeans................._pale_ (I chucked them out!) At least your DD had the sense to put them in a box! And I can post Hairy and Fairy to you if you wanted them.

Hi peachy, there is no reason why any animal cant be castrated really however it is not a common procedure on something as small as that due to the anaesthetic risk..

If he is humping your other one and you dont want babies then castration is a option however most vets would simply suggest seperating them to prevent this. Also once they become active they do tend to have alot of babies....from bad experiences during my childhood!

Good luck....You could start an online gerbil business??!! (joking)

    Dave.
