hi itbs glad to see you've got on your feet now and are up and running, welcome to the wonderful world of taxi driving! sorry to here about the idiots but i find asking them to leave their mobile with me usually makes them come up with the money as does threatening to call the police as they are getting the fare by deception i wouldn't ever go into someones house though! mind you i'm only little and female! hi taxi hope you had good holiday!get rid of all the pounds by summer !!
weight loss 3/42 lb
Debt from 1st March:
Was -£8900 NOW-£5000 PAID- £3900
Get rid of the weight, pay the debt, then get myself a campavan! :T0 -
Hi Taxi,
Nice to see you back, hope you had a good holiday, I will pop in on your diary when I get a minute.
Lamarsi, the only reason he came back out with any money was the mention of the police:p
Wasn't able to work last night, the mirror was bad really and I only managed to get new glass and fix it this morning. Its quite quiet today but I have had 3 good fares. I was planning on working late due to my late start re the mirror but I think I could do with a nice night in with DW and DD.
I'll be out early tomorrow.0 -
Hi you 2 ..thanks had a lovely time ...you will have quiet days sometimes. The problem with this job is you never know what the next fare will be...but I agree with Lamarsi re going into a persons house as they have access to weapons while in there..if vin doubt call the police..best to be safe.Do remember to keep all receipts as you can deduct them from your tax..0

Take it easy here. The one thing about our job is tomorrow is another day. You can't lose money that you don't have. If you are off the road enjoy it. You will work many, many, many more hours than you are off. Especially with your attitude.
I wouldn't set targets as high as that either. A ton a day and £400 for the weekend is plenty. It's alright making a fortune but if you are sitting like a zombie at 8 O'Clock on a Saturday you are not doing yourself any favours. You need to learn to pace yourself.
You get used to the w......s it's part of the job. Middle age men are by far the worst I would say.
Monday is the best day of the week to be off. You should try and finish early on a Sunday so that you are getting a bit of a weekend with the family.£2 coin/ £460 -
Hi BTM,
Cheers mate, I know what you mean re the hours, its just while I have started to make a dent in my debts, then I will calm down.
Will definitely be taking Mondays off too.
Did you have a good time at the game?
Took your advice too re the spare tyres from the scrappy............0 -
Morning ITBS...I totally agree with BTM regarding the hours...driving a taxi can be very tiring and you have to have family time as well.0

Starting to work out when is the busy time and when isn't.
Yesterday was settle day, has to be paid by 7pm, meaning that most drivers are all out running around like headless chickens to pay the settle, hence less work.
Decided to go out at 6 oclok instead of in the morning. Home at 10.45 for a cuppa an tuna pasta, back out by 11, in at 2 and I'd hit target:D
Today I'm off the gym, then only going out at about 4 ish, working straight through till 4 am ish, then a late start again tomorrow.
Car has been in the garage (should I get used to this) for stiff steering, needs a new power steering rack:mad: , temporary repair is to keep topping up the pas fluid, but don't think it will pass the next 6 month check. Think I will start putting my £2 coins away to pay for mechanical repairs, sort of a slush fund.
Have a good weekend everyone0 -
Hi ITBS...putting money away for repairs is essential as you will find there are plenty of repair bills as we do loads more miles than an ordinary driver.Glad to see that you are finding which times are best to work. That way you can spend time with your family and get a rest. You are keeping all your receipts aren't you? They can be deducted as expenses.0

Hi All,
Yes Taxi, I'm keeping all receipts. I'm quite good at bookkeeping from when i had my business so I will keep on top of this.
I got a really good acccounts book off ebay for about £4 too, (actually it was free:j ) I got a £10 off voucher from paypal:D
Spent some QT with my family yesterday and only started at 6pm. Had full intentions of working right through til 5/6 am but ended up finishing at 3.15.
TBH wasn't as busy as a normal sat night, could be cos its the bank hol, or people staying in for the Hatton fight, or the dreaded crunch but still took £180 so not too bad:cool:
Have a good weekend all.0 -
