    Hello all,

Really sorry i haven't posted for a while, i haven't fell off the wagon i have just been mad busy trying to get my taxi on the road........

    Couple of updates.....
had to buy a whole new set of wheels (16") as I couldn't get a steel rim the same size as my old ones (17") arrrgghhh I hate red tape:mad:
Paid £230 for the wheels off ebay, then had to pay another £50 for a spare wheel rim from vauxhall after trying 5 scrapyards and £25 for a part worn tyre. My old set is on ebay now so hopefully I will recover what i have paid out.

I have had the door signs made and put on, bought a first aid kit and fire extinguisher off good old ebay and fitted them, and had my radio and data head fitted. ( Feels like Im all dressed up with nowhere to go!!!)

taxi went in for its test today and gues what..................
    FAILED_pale_ _pale_ _pale_

Only failed on a steering rack gaiter and a light so i have got these fixed by a gargae for 350 all in. Re test is tomorrow at 11.30.

Van went through auctions today. My reserve was £3000, highest bid was £2650 (again_pale_ _pale_ _pale_ )

I have actually decided to cut my losses and let it go for that. At the end of the day it was a dog that would never start and haemoraged my cash, rather than wait another 2 weeks where it may or may not have got more i will cut my losses and run. Auction house take 8 percent of sale plus £50 (anyone who is feeling clever feel free to let me know how much i will get, I am too busy today:rolleyes: )

Besides i havent paid the mortgae this month (£1107) or the council tax (£160) so I REALLY need this money.

Going to have to shoot now as I am getting amendments to the insurance for the taxi, they have sent me the cover notye but the policy has wrong details on.

Thanks everyone for sticking with my thread, will update you all how i get on tomorrow.

    Hope everyone else is okay.

Hi ITBS - sorry to hear about all youve had to spend out on the taxi recently - at least it will be ready and raring to go when its all sorted.

By my dodgy calculations you should get £2388.00 after deductions.

Glad things are progressing, if not as fast as you would like.

Being a mere female, I don't understand all this talk of alloys and steel rims, couldn't you get an alloy as a spare in a 17"?

If you can get that mortgage payment in before the month end, a lot of mortgage lenders won't actually note it as arrears, so worth trying.

Dare I ask, are you keeping up with the tax payments? Have you folded the company yet?

    GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j :j :j

The car has just passed its taxi test_party_ _party_ _party_

Now I just have to screw the taxi plates on the bumpers, display a load of no smoking stickers and go back and get the green light. Fingers crossed i might actually end up working today/tonight.

Silvercar i could have got another 17" alloy but the price for one that matche the others was more than I paid for a set!!!!

Noted re the mortgage, re the tax, I havent been able to pay them this month yet....... Will ring them once i am definately on the road. When the cheque clears from the van it will go to the mortgage and the tax man.

I am waiting for HMRC to wind up the company. have told them I am not in a postion to pay the company debts and would not opppose them winding it up. I think because they know I want them to they may be dragging their feet. regardless the office has been changed to my accountants address and I have a nother director on my property development company for when i am struck off.

I think I can actually see a little light at the end of the tunnell:rolleyes:

    UPDATE:

Car is now officially a taxi. I have been to the taxi office and given them copies of my insurance, licenses etc.

The licensing office have passed my car now I have had the plates fitted so....

I start work at 7am tomorrow:j and a neighbour has asked me to take her teenage daughter to school. They used to be on regular school runs but kept getting let down so stopped them. I will just make sure that the jobs go through the office and its assigned to me each morning for insurance purposes then we're all happy.

Will let everyone know how my first day went tomorrow. Wish me luck.
