    Morning All,

PEnguin I will be able to get the final value fees credited and relist again for free i think but the annoying thing is that I thought they were sold and had already mentally spent the money :p

AID4, Hilarious re the flip flops, you will have white straps around your feet now when you took the off, unique "white bits:D ".

Only just got up, wow, 9 oclock. A lie in:T Another good thing about this job!!!. Taking it easy this morning, going to get my hair cut, going the gym, then I will probably start at 12 or 1 ish, then its straight through to 4 am ish. This is where I will make the most of my money Fri Sat Sun night. DEFINATELY taking Monday off this week to recover though, like DMXDave said, my health is important too!.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

What a night last night was.............

Had my first proper argument with a fare:eek:

I picked up from the office (town centre) well dressed, middle aged fella going to a nice village on the outskirts of town. When we gets there the fare on the clock was £12.30. He said he would just have to go in to get the money from his Mrs. I told hiim no probs, and I would stop the clock as it was to save him paying more.

He then comes out some 5 mins later saying "we have a problem, I haven't got any money". Without stere typing this was not the area that I would expect to get this, it was a detached house with a nearly new Saab in the drive in the middle of a country lane in the hills. I explained that the fare needed paying, could he go back in and get it please. He was drunk but not plastered and i remained polite all the way through. Next thing his wife comes out, I was thinking to pay, and asks me where he has come from. I told her and she said £12.30 !!!! you robbing !!!!!!!!. Here we go...............

Showed her the meter, told her it was tariff 2 as it was 2 am the distance was on there adn clear to see, she could also ring the office to check. "I'll give you a fiver and you can .... F.... off. Obviously I told her that a fiver didnt even cover my juice and then the hubby came out with a handfull of change. £7 and another 5 mins later he then asks me to come in to the house. I'm quite a big lad so I got out and went in. Oh my god.... There was 2pences pennies and five pences all over the place. You'll have to count it out of that you robbing !!!!!! his Mrs said.

Feeling well and truly pi ssed off now I declined her generous offer telling her I would lose £20 in fares by the time i had finished counting it.
I then told her that she could use the fiver they had ripped me off for to buy some new underwear as they clearly were "fur coat and no knickers";)

Then all the usual threats "I'll ring your office, etc" "Good", I said, as long as its not for a taxi cos you're blacklisted now, and remind them you owe me a fiver.

Before anyone thinks bad of me. I had a woman last night who needed to take her son home from the hospital A and E. Really nice woman and the fare was £9. She went to a normal house on a council estate and only had a fiver on her and was adamant she would get the money from inside the house. I told her not to worry, just pay me next time she sees me, or take it in the office. Point Im trying to make is if his Mrs wouldn't have accused me of being a thief and started "F" ing and blinding I would have probably done the same.

    Oh well, rant over.....

Prob gonna start at 3 today, only got in at 4.30 this morning so I'm just chilling. Will be out til early hours again, prob 3 ish then tomorrow is my day off:j :j :j

Mate's dad used to have a milk run (remember when pints of milk would be delivered to your door :) )

Anyhow he said that the "posh" places you could not get the money out of them on a Friday but when you went to the "council" estates the money was sitting waiting for you!

How much did they think a taxi would cost at that hour, a lot less than if he had driven and been done for DD

You were right sticking to your guns, I definitely don't think bad of you, after all it is your livelihood

Fair play ITBS, I can't fault you, what total ar*eh*les? The last time I paid a fiver for a reasonable journey in a taxi was about 1995!... Love the 'you're blacklisted' and 'fur coat and no-nickers' bit... tremendous :D
At least you've got the first argument with a customer  out of the way though ay ;)

    Cheers

Day started off ell, ent out and got a good fare, £15 or so, just before dropping them off sounded the horn at 2 young lads flying toards me on the rong side of the road, they moved over and hit my mirror, by thye time i had turned around they ere nowhere to be seen and I as left with smashed glass.

Nowhere is open now to buy a new mirrror glass so I have to hope I am alright with it tonight, I can still see out of it and the mirror isn't hanging off so hopefully I will get away ith it until tomorro.

Add to that the fare that Id dropped off had a kid with them, when I was half way back I noticed green "slime" all over the back seat and mats, (like the stuff kids used to throw at walls and ceilings), Its come off the seats (thank god I got leather) but the mats are ruined. I may be vauxhalls best customer tomorrow.

Just in for tea while its quiet and will be back out in a bit.

Morning ITBS..welcome to our wonderful world of taxis....luckily w.....s are few and far between and believe me it's the middle classes that cause us more problems..they think they are above us...you've got most of the bad stuff out of the way now..
RE car mats buy the full thick rubber sets from Morrisons £7.99 ..i have 2 sets so that one can be drying while the others are used..they can be easily cleaned with soap and water as you won't believe the dirt you get in your cab....
Glad to see you out working now...the reason you are so tired is the amount of concentrating on the roads all the time...have a good one.
