Hi all,
Still not updated sig. Will do it in a bit.
Have got a monthly online shop in for April and so should be able to just shop local for fresh stuff.
BigmummaF re the southern fried chicken - I season some flour with salt, lots of black pepper, cayene pepper, chili powder and mixed herbs, coat drumsticks and thighs in the flour then shallow fry on each side on a high heat until browned and crispy and then place in baking tray and cook in oven at 200/gas 6 for around half hour.
thought i'd share the following idea for using every bit of food!; when you peel spuds (and other veg like carrots/parsnips)scrub them clean and try to peel quite big strips, heat some olive oil in roasting tin and then add the peelings, coat in oil and sprinkle with salt, roast until crispy (around 15 mins) and they are yummy! you can sprinkle over grated cheese which is nice too. Eat as a snack or part of meal. we had it tonight with HM burgers and beans. the actual spuds have been mashed and frozen until later in week!
the uncooked peelings will keep in fridge for a couple of days if washed.

Ooooooh, Mrs Mc, I made your breadsticks today as we are having friends over for a drink tonight and I thought it would be nice to have some nibbles......trouble is I've had to send OH out for peanuts and crisps now because the breadsticks were SOOOoooooo nice, the "nobody fairy" came and ate them all along with the garlic dip I made
. Oh well, never mind
.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .... glad the "nobody fairy" liked them.... Next time leave her a note that they will stay fresh for over a week(given the chance
) wrapped in a tea towel
Glad you liked them to lainz :T never got around to freezing them... a couple of batches keep hubby munching all week
Pink Princess... both kinds of wraps are really simple to make;) ... the ones for the duck sound a bit of a faff... but they are really easy... and once they are peeled apart they freeze brilliantly ...and the tortilla ones are best if you freeze the dough in balls..
Angelnikki.... if you can do the wraps -you can do the pancakes.... pretty much the same method... but you just peel them apart ..really easy
right best go and add everyone to the list-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
