    Hi everyone especially the newbies

We are in for £340 for April starting Thursday for 4 weeks. Looking forward to the new month and the opportunity to refill the freezers and try out some new recipes!:D

Would everyone mind posting their weeks menus to give us all different meal ideas? Once I've worked ours out I will post it here.

I am planning to do a spreadsheet for this months spending as I am applying for jobs in admin and need to practice how to do them!!!! I have 2 interviews next week and one of them has an administrative task to complete. Having a panic now incase they ask me to do a spreadsheet!

Off to start the meal plan, a tesco on line shop and a spreadsheet!

    Good luck everyone

    Hello
Need to join as was very naughty in March and pretended it wasn't happening...think I just need to log in more often to keep myself motivated actually!
Please put me down for £200. That's for 2 adults and a small person with a small adult's appetite.
    Thanks

TheBees - PM me if you need any tips on spreadsheets - I'm a bit of a whizz with them (I spend practically all my working hours in Excel) so try it yourself first but if you get stuck on anything let me know! :)

  • MrsMc - thank you so much for managing the list. I'm here again with a calendar month budget of £180.

I think I'm going to cheat with March a bit. I normally despatch DH to do the weekly shop on a Monday evening but that would blow our March budget, so I'll send him on Tuesday next week instead... but that's going to make April a 5-weeker...
Other spanner is that baby is due next week . We've stocked the second freezer up with whoopsed ready meals coz I don't reckon I'm gonna be in any fit state to cook!! :rotfl:
  • Good luck everybody as many of us including me didn't quiet meet this months buget. i can't beleave that we're on page 6 and April isn't even here yet!!! just goes to show what a great thread and contributors we have here. i'm off to Spain thursday for couple of weeks, not a holiday as we're working on our pile of stone's in the Andalusan mountains, so hopfully i'll come in on buget this month.

Hi all - what a lot of posts already. Welcome on board all the newbies. I bet every other person you see in the supermarket is going to be one of you !!

THE BEES - heres my menu for next week - not the most inspiring but ....

Sunday - gammon potato and veg
    Monday - gammon curry
Tuesday - MRSMs tortillas with quorn 'chicken' pieces and salad
    Wedneday -potato pie with broccoli
Thursday - HM soup with HM rolls (as its football training for DSs tonight so late in)
Friday - Sausage casserole with carrots and peas
    Saturday - HM pizza

Heliecopter - CARROT COOOKIES ??? I have made these and they are nom nom and very easy.

    CARROT COOKIES

    1 tbsp marg
    2 tbsp sugar
    4 tbsp grated raw carrots
    6 tbsp SR flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder

Cream marg and sugar. Beat in carrot. Fold in flour and baking powder. Drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet or small fairy cake tin. Sprinkle with a bit of extra sugar if you want. Bake at 200c for about 20 mins.

fedupnow - I know what you mean. All the names I came up with had gone too so thats why Im saddled with MHE and I have no idea how to change it!!!

frankerooney - good luck for next week - or at least hoping it is next week!! I never got to 40 weeks cos all mine came 1-2 weeks early.

Yippee brand new thread and clean sheet budgetwise. :j

Anyone know any good deals on fresh milk at the mo? Was jumping on the Cravendales 2 for £2 last month but is that all done and dusted now?

Iceland milk is £1.10 - not on special either. It's just gone up from £1
