As i said earlier I fell by the roadside in March. Did'nt come here much so lost my inspiration but back on form now. Tonit I have cooked a pot of carrot soup, two blackberry and apple crumbles and two cottage pies. There is just the two of us my budget of £150 should be more than enough. Today I bought from local butcher 6 chicken sausages, 6 premium own made pork sausages, 1 local reared chicken and 2 large chicken fillets which I cut up into 4, total cost £15.26. I have enough meat, fish, cereals, food cupboard stores and loo rolls to last month. I have enough bread and milk for two weeks. Total spend so far £94.98, I should only need about £30 for fruit and veggies. I would like to get down to £100 but don't think I can.
Planted potatoes on our new allotment today, onions to follow tomorrow (weather permitting) and then carrots and sweetcorn. Hope to grow leeks, parsnips and cabbages also garlic. I have basil and tomatoes growing in pots indoors ready to plant.
I still need to sort out my personal spending a bit but thanks to Martin I opened some accounts for holidays and Christmas and when we saw a bargain going for Lake Garda in May I had the money in my account without touching anything else. Should have enough in there in May for spending also. Well done Martin.:money:

Thanks JayneC for all your posts, I noticed that you live in Scarborough so I have been reminiscing about Holidays we used to have there as kids and when you mentioned York I had a flash back of walking down the Shambles. I so wish I lived near the Coast as I love the Sea, just walking along the beach no matter what the weather is like is soooooooo relaxing - I'm going off track here now so must pinch myself and get back to real life.;)

    Hi Scotsaver,
thanks, I have only lived in Scarborough for 5 years and do appreciate living by the sea. I want to learn to fish so can catch my own Mackrel (free food yay!!:D ), but don't know how to go about it really:confused:

Went to Sainsbury's yesterday for milk and had to go for more again today:rolleyes: Spent £3 yesterday (got some bread rolls 3 for £1) and £5.74 today (got cereal and condensed milk for ice-cream - someone posted a recipe for condensed milk a while ago does anyone know if this would be ok to use in ice-cream recipe:confused: )

I've had a go at making ice-cream earlier today - it's not ready yet so will report back later. It was quite easy really:p

Moniker re your instructions for yoghurt maker - if you have the make and model you should be able to get the instructions online, I did this for a breadmaker I got from freecycle with no instructions. Just go to the website of the manufacturer and it should be on there somewhere HTH

    Off to update sig now,

Just been to Sainsbury for my first full weeks shop of April and spent £19.88, which included a large box of Fairy washing powder. Loo rolls, Ibuprofen, fresh fruit and veg, and fresh meat. Very impressed with the meat: 2 x 500g lamb mince £4, 8 pork loin chops £3.99, braising steak (reduced) £1.54 and 2 x 500g beef mince for 2p :D bargain beef mince!!!!! I pointed out that the fridge was so cold it had frozen all the meat in it, asked if they had any out the back that wasnt frozen and the bloke came back with 2 packs of "colleague sampling" beef mince for 1p a pack  It went through the till at £2.99 each so I pointed it out and they did it for 1p each wahooo! Tesco tomorrow for my yoghurts £2.50 and have a 50 point voucher to use.

Still need to get bread x 5, milk 4pt x 4, bit of broccoli and fabric conditioner, think thats it for this week :T

Haven't looked back at March, but you don't have me on the April list! I only declared my March total on Sunday though. Please can you put me down for £160 in April. Thank you

just checked March, and you have my total there, so perhaps you're just doing my April target.
