    Hi Mooloo

I think Clowe's just starting her final week and as her child benefit comes through on Monday 21st that will be the start of May for her.

    Cheers

Ah it all makes sense now.
Still not managed to get myself going this morning. Waiting for the twins to vacate the bathroom, then I will get a move on. I want to go to Lidl, I think there is one near to where I have just moved. (although when I lived near one a few years ago in Northampton it was not a very nice shop, I once picked up a cucumber in its sleeve that was pure liquid, so I never went in there again.).
Re the gardening. I think I will have to look at grow bags etc, as I am in rented I dont know how long I am able to stay here. The rent is on a monthly lease, so If Landlord changes his mind I would only have a month to get out. Also if my son stops school when hes 16 I would not be able to afford to stay here. Ek:eek: Well I cant really afford to stay here, I have to rely on Housing Benefit.

  • morning all

done my weekly shop. spent the princely sum of £20 and for that i got a v large bunch of bananas, a big punnet of strawbs, a bag of grapes, 160 tea bags (plus a Horton soft toy!) a loaf of bread, two crusty rolls, a cake for DS, 2kg of mince, 8 yoghurts for me, 6 choc mousses for OH, 18 pitta breads (whoopsed to 1/2 price but don't go out of date til 21st  ), frosties (half price), ball of LF mozzarella.
as well as a nice bit of free exercise! my arms are killing me from carryin all that mince
less than £10 to last the month but thought i'd get the mince as its such a good offer and will last us ages....with padding it out i discovered i can make a 250g pack last me, OH and DS two meals, instead of one as it used to.
altho OH insists upon calling it "mince porridge" :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Searching_me - do you like curry? Garlic and onions are great for colds, and the heat of a curry would help you sweat it out a bit (sorry, but it works!). That's my excuse for eating curry under a blanket on the sofa when I have a cold, anyway!

No budget left but loads of food in the house, I have to be really disciplined now and meal plan properly - it is do-able...

Mooloo, I'm pretty sure that legally you'd have 2 months notice (plus, if it comes to it, it would take months to actually 'get' you out, so you should have plenty of time to find somewhere else). Not a great consolation but still. Have you checked www.entitledto.com to see how much worse off you'd be if your DS leaves school? Might not be as bad as you think - I have been panicking (DD off to Uni soon) but the figures are better than I thought (although not easy!!). Also if he stops school - maybe he'll get a nice job and pay keep! Good luck anyway.

Must admit I had used Entitled to before, but totally forgot I could do a scenario, to see what the options are. Good thinking. God, why am I sometimes so vague!!.

I've changed my signature from weekly to a monthly spend.I picked up too many bargains last week and I know (hope) it will balance out for the rest of the month this way.

No you are not going mad-unless I am too! That is also the sort of thing that I get odd looks for! Leave such items at the top of the freezer though and make sure that you label them because give it a couple of weeks and you will never work out what it was.:T
I do this as well so that makes another mad person on the list!!

    Hi again everyone.

Feel like i'm not going to make it this month. Oh wanted to go to Lidl Saturday and spent £27ish (he spent 12+ yrs living in Germany and loves the food, i.e. bratwusrt and other cooked meats) and today another spend of £2.50 for 24 eggs and £33.13 in Asda. (£13 was on a new mop, cutlery caddy and pie dishes).

Hopefully remaining £35 will last me till the end of the month.

    Take care all.
