  • Morning all,
    Stressful day in Bunny-land today...
My boss called me into the office today to say that 'effectively' he is bankrupt until his new business loan come thru and can he please pay me a week monday?

Now, this is a new company and I know that new companies always have blips (ah!) at the beginning but we cannot AFFORD not to be paid! Do I take a risk and say it's ok? Or like a rat leaving a sinking ship-do I scarper?

Called DH and he just went all silent...not a good sign.
    Oh help.

Oh Bunny, I'm sorry to hear that. I really don't know what to suggest for the best. You need to be abit selfish and if it means leaving and getting a securer job then do. Can your boss not pay you half your wages? How sure is he that come 7th April he'll have the money to pay you? Not a good situation at all.

Chin Up though and sending you :grouphug:

Hmm bunny that's not a good sign, even during the really really rough times when we started our business number 1 priority was to make sure the contractors and the little people were paid. Then we worried about the suppliers. Obviously the main reason for this was because we knew how much people need to be paid, but also because the last thing we wanted was for our employees to know that cashflow was an issue because that drags them down and these were our problems.

If it were me, I would give him the benefit of the doubt until next week but don't spend too much longer waiting. if his cashflow is so bad he can't pay you and he is already getting finance this doesn't bode well for a new company at all.

Right! Am off now to dye my hair - try to cover up all the greys that are coming through! It'll be the first time I've used permanent dye and have done the test, but should I puff up and have a reaction to the stuff, someone have an ambulance on standby please!!

PS. For when Bob appears - hope you're still loving my avatar as much as I am - drool, drool!

Hi Bunny, bad news chick eh, not very good at all, not good at all. I agree with Toto entirely he has to at least pay his staff. I would ask if he has known for some time which I am presuming he has, why has he chosen to tell you now some less than 3 days before you are due to be paid (presuming that you get paid on the last working day of the month) he could have given you some more notice so you could sort your affairs out at least. I hope he sorts it sooner rather than later and gets this loan sorted. Do you know what the delay is or do you not want to say. Len x

Ive managed to clean all the vom up as well and washed all his clothes as well. Fortunately none of the sick made to the car upholstery and it was the car seat, which was nice.
