Persolv0- your post made me laugh- I remember my mum and dad buying a fridge/freezer that came in a HUGE box. Me, my brother and sister and all our pals played in that box for weeks until my parents got sick of it and carted it off to the tip.
Ive got the same sort of memories:beer:.....an old cardboard box has been a house....fortress....castle .......general hiding place......a horse(yes a horse:o....i was a strange child:rolleyes:.):rotfl:

Horse ???? from a cardboard box!!! you make me laugh!!!

    Ill try to explain:o

ever seen those old john wayne films??where he runs up behind the horse ... vaults onto the back oand runs off into the distance...welllll my mother would nt let me use the back of the sofa as a substitute horse (why not not ive no idea:confused:) soooo the next best thing was an old box upside down with the families dogs blanket over the back as a saddle:j(In my mind anyhow it was a reasonable substitute...until it collapsed:rolleyes:)....(but rest assured, no cardboard was hurt in the making of this horse:D)

Back to the thread topic:eek: whilst i have nt got through my debt journey i think just feeling relaxed answering the phone ,opening letters without my stomach doing somersaults and seeing a bank balance without a negative balance showing over a months statements would do just fine for me

Hey hope that talking helps...it has for me over last few weeks!

Somehow knowing others have similar issues makes us feel `not so isolated`...I only found this site a few weeks ago but I now know I can deal with my debt issues. Best thing is knowing that I can ask the most stupid question & no-one is critical...I think thats a rare thing to find!!

Anyway ...horse? box?...still don`t get it!! but I`m sure you had to `be there`!!!

Got to go now...up at 6!!! take care & thanks Angelxx
  • Hi everyone. The best thing or normal thing i've done is not be scared to open the mail or answer the phone.I've drove everyone at work mad today by just singing along to the radio, i've been laughing and generally just enjoying life again, got my weekly check up in the morning with my GP so hopefully he'll notice a big change in me and my BP would have come down.

Not sure if this comes under the heading "normal" or "best" thing since bc. I bought a humugus rib of beef(£12) and had my family round for a big roast with all the trimmings!:D

"no cardboard was hurt in the making of this horse" !!!

OMG, I can't remember the last time I laughed like this. My 'horse' was a dressing gown cord wrapped around the post at the ends of the bed for reins!! Bring back the good old days eh?
