I have banked with FD since 1992 and there isn't anything about them that annoys me at all.

    I love them to bits.

    Abbey:

I recently did an online transfer from my Abbey current account to my OH's - took three days. When I had to ring them to query why the funds had not transferred, I was told that it was normal for it to take 3-4 days via internet, but if I had rang to do it, the transfer would have been immediate.

Queues - humongous queues in my local branch each time I go in (which isn't very often).

I bank mostly online, but I like my local HSBC, the staff there are friendly and do their best to help you even if they are not always fully clued on what dept to contact at first.

Also you get seen in private. I used to take business takings into a Nat West regularly and I've lost count of the number of fairly sensitive conversations I overheard as the queue is right next to the 'customer service' desk.

I couldn't agree more with that, it's so much better to be seen in private, why don't banks just get that ?

Nothing annoys me about my bank, i love them! They are easy to get hold of, very helpful, understanding and polite. They even waived a £12 fee when work messed up my wages and a direct debit left me over my overdraft limit. I had phoned them to ask for a copy of the charge to be sent out as work were going to pay the £12 and the lady said "No problem, ill waive the fee right now". Best bit is, it's a student account so they don't make a penny out of me.

Although i've got a full time job now so im in the process of changing to a halifax super-dooper account with 6% interest..... :(

I'm not a fan of the fact that "Money Transfers" made on the same day show immediately on the balance/statement, but if I initiate a Bill Payment same day, it doesn't show up or reflect in the balance until the next day.

    Nationwide

The only thing with Nationwide is that they always have a long queue in their branch. Otherwise they're brilliant.

    :)

HSBC annoy me by requiring a paying in slip for cash deposits, and not offering a withdrawal service in branch (they don't give out slips any more). Other than that, they're great. :)

I can solve this one for you

    1) Order a paying in book-it's free
    2) Write a cheque out-'cash to self' or even just 'cash' and they will give you it! Same as a withdrawral slip if you just want to withdraw an odd amount.

Just though this may help-although you prob already knew :o

I've ordered a withdrawal book, it hasn't arrived yet tho. And I use cheques a lot, so I'll be b*ggered if I'm using any of the sods to get a couple of quid over the counter ;)
