Please don't tell me this is a saturday thingy re 48 hours notice? I hope you tell me that that is not the case and that on tuesday you can see that a DD is going out on thursday.

For example, on Wednesday morning I seen 2 of my DD's queue d up to clear on the Friday(today), I think this qualifies, oh and by the way, if you are a Natwest staff member can you explain the following to me, I was a victim of ID theft and from 2000 - 2003 someone was impersonating me and getting stuff in my name and then bumping the lot, I have just about got it sorted but the Natwest have recorded a default on my Equifax file, linked to an address where I never lived at, I have been in dispute with the natwest and Equifax for over a year now and I have just about gave up, I was told to send in 5 specimen signatures to the Telford office and so I did, 3 times, then they don’t call me, write to me or anything, I phone them and am told they need photo ID, well I have never held photo ID or passport or anything like that, not even a drivers licence, so they told me in the following words "tough, if you don’t provide the photo id your stuck with this debt" well guess what NO I AM NOT! The default date was 2003 so mmmm less than 12 months to go before it’s wiped off my file, but the first chance of getting back at the natwest I will make sure I don’t miss it, this is outrageous, this has been a very long struggle, the police did not want to know, the only people who helped me was Experian and myself, Equifax are not very co-operative at all, anyway back to the thread...
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

  • Here's a good one-I closed my Barclays account today and took all the cash out and said to the cashier, is that everything settled-i was told yes, luckily I went to an adviser to close and I was told I owed 8p debit interest-now imagine if i walked out and had not double checked-I know its a but far fetched but 8p is a debt that could become a default.....just made me stop and think.....and ask for a reciept when the nice man went to pay it into my account to make it balance-lol!

Glad it's closed now tho-never did get to grips with it! The whole system, the way the statements display, the online banking, the processes for applications, it's all a huge headache!

Each to their own I suppose!!

You used to have an account/worked for smile. Now you are now unhappy with FD.

They rated 1&2 in Which's Survey recently of the best UK banks.

A 100% cash approach might be your best bet. Who needs the banks anyway?

    Natwest,

customer service in my branch is rubbish, they are very rude.

Telephone banking either cut you off if you ask any questions they dont like ot fob you off with an excuse/lie to get you off the phone.

and the ' your account needs a review' rubbish

I have closed my account now

I'm not unhappy with them at all. I just started a thread on what little things annoy you. In general FD give me what I want so I'm fine, but some little things annoy me :)
  • Proliant, I was asking the question because I was interested and hoping that it was not working day issue. I don't really know much about other banks procedures or how their accounts work. With regards to the other matters I would advise you on it but not on this thread because I would have more questions to ask. My haunt is on my signature which I am found a lot. basic advice: Customer Relations Unit complaint.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

What things annoy you about your bank?

I'm with LloydsTsb. I've banked with them since I was 18 and generally I'm happy with them and rate them.

The things that annoy me I think are generic to all banks and not specific to Lloyds :

    - The branch staff don't understand their own products.
    - The branch staff, to put it politely, don't seem financially savvy ( e.g. ''what's a toisa '' ) Maybe an age thing.
    - Different staff members have a different 'take' on the same question.
    - They deleted my address from their system so post wasn't getting to me. This was rectified after four phone calls BUT they couldn't tell me why this had happened.
    - The call-centre isn't bad. I just personally dislike call-centres.

I'm happy enough with Lloyds. I do a lot of on-line banking these days which eliminates the potential for problems. I'm in control.

Worst banks imho : Alliance & Leicester, followed by Abbey National.
  • I have a Coop Cashminder account, about 4 years ago i was in a financial state, but, since then i have managed to clear all of my debts,

i have a default on my credit report from 4 years ago (marked as settled), i recently rang them to ask if there was any way my account could be upgraded to a full account so that i could get a full visa debit card only to be told that there is an adverse credit marker on my account, yet in the three years i have had the account i have never had a dd returned or any unauthorised od,

Needless to say im looking at opening another account eldewhere
