i would agree that a blue badge is not a free ride for everthing but a little notice on the machines to say badge holders have to pay would be helpfull

blue badge does give you a certain amount of time free before you might have to pay.but the ticket i got was for not paying first and not a single notice in sight. great to say traffic warden even agreed with me but could do nothing about it.
  • hii have just got my blue badge and in the book that comes with it london has its own rules as do some other places, you could write and plead ignorance and hope they take pity, before i got my badge i had to pay up simply as i got fines cos i never could get somewhere and back easily so had to abandon my car loli am just getting to grips with where to use it but ive found disabled designated spots the worst as i get abuse from old codgers simply as im relitively young and dont have a wheelchair!x

The blue badge isn't a free for all. You are restricted in the number of places you can park and you have no automatic entitlement to park on all single and double yellow lines.

Perhaps you should have bothered to read the literature that came with it and the Highway Code. You'd have saved yourself a few quid.

i have no issue with the content of your post (apart from the fact that it has already been covered by other people!) but the manner in which you made it seems entirely unecessary. there is no such thing as a stupid question and please be nice to all moneysavers:

I agree there are nice and not so nice ways of writing things - yours was the not so nice. It is a fair mistake to make if there are not signs up in the street informing you of the disabled parking limitations and a polite letter explaining that you weren't aware may be worth a try. Some on the boards seem to be quite angry about disabled drivers - perhaps they have some underlying issues!

There doesn't have to be any signs informing you of the disabled restrictions. They are clearly displayed by the existing signage that applies to everyone as indicated in the Highway Code, an example being the number of vertical bars painted on the kerb accompanying a single or double yellow line and whether or not they park in a "Loading Bay". It would appear from your comment that you could also do with reading the Highway Code as a refresher as well.

Coner, why do you verbally attack just about every newcomer to this site? Perhaps you could give me a civil answer as I've been around a few weeks now?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

i think connor might have a grudge against blue badge holders. i do not seem to recall westminster council parking in highway code. i musy admit to not reading it for a long time. i was not moaning about my not being able to read properly but that there should be some signes around to clarify parking.as thay do in payment carparks.we are not all stupid just trying to get through life easier.:D
