NPower gas 'sculpting'

There was a small feature again on watchdog, just confirming npower are the uks worst energy provider for the amount of complaints and have even surpassed when british gas had masses of complaints in the past.0

I saw that. Unusual for a large plc not to put someone forward to speak up for them. Definitely a company in crisis and in denial. Now is the time to keep the pressure on. Keep writing, phoning and emailing, demanding your money and threaten them with court. Hopefully they will be in the spotlight again on Saturday and may start to crack. Be a real shame if Ofgem revoked their licence.0

Yeah, npower did not want to represent themselves, heh says a lot really. Especially when it was british gas in the spotlight twice, and twice the managing director of british gas went on the show to apologise and give assurances that things would improve.
npower really do suck, bigtime.0 -

I gained the impression that BG were(are?) simply inefficient, especially with their new Computerised accounting system.
However I equally gain the impression that NPower’s tactics are more sinister; this overcharging of primary units last year cannot be other than a deliberate act.0 -

He finished by saying he was going to give npower a call and get their side of it. He has had previous dealings with them and is not impressed. Fingers crossed folks.0

Is anyone able to explain this to me. I have two bills for the following dates
4/01/2008-11/03/2008 High units charged 1651
11/03/2008-01/04/2008 High units charged 281
1st bill should have (according to the provided percentages) 1747 high units and 2nd bill 184 high units.
Their figures and my figures add up to the same so I haven't been overcharged for the periods covered. What I don't understand is why not work them out correctly in the first place. They have made two wrongs make a right (only npower can do this). It is impossible still, even with the figures and percentages they have provided, to properly check their bills. I am somewhat perplexed by it all.0 -

I haven't sat down with pencil and paper, but does it have anything to do with the change (in price I assume) on 11/03 - i.e. have you included ALL the March quota in the 1747?
The sooner Npower are taken to the cleaners the better IMHO.
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

No it seems what they have done is calculate from 4/01/08 to 29/02/08 which comes to 1651.
Then calculate from 29/02/08 to 01/04/08 on the second bill which comes to 271. The totals are correct but you cannot reconcile them with the dates on the bill which makes it impossible to check. I don't kbow if this was a deliberate calculation they did or if it is yet more inaccuracies in their billing system which accidentally worked out o.k for that period. Either way the bills are wrong which is the main issue. What a crap outfit they are. Banging my head against a brick wall.0
