Shell prices are just as good asda, morrisons, tesco etc and its grade one fuel. (The supermarkets have grade two fuel). quote]
Just wondering what you mean by the grade1/2 fuel and what you are basing it on. I thought supermarket fuel came from the same place at the end of the day.0 -

Hi Mr Cool, this probably requires another thread as this has got nothing to do with the Shell Mastercard. This is simply pure speculation but there may be some truth in it somewhere.
Here is a thread from another forum asking "is supermarket fuel good enough" from another website in the wake of the contamined fuel incident in 2007. You can read into it more if you wish. Though I am a moneysavingcovert etc I do believe in you get what you pay for.

Just read this on the shell bit of the citi website:
# Applies to Shell fuel purchases at participating Shell Service Stations in Great Britain only. 3p and 6p a litre Cash Back based on a minimum Shell pump price of £1.00 per litre. Pump prices may vary.
So now that fuel is less than £1 a litre does that mean that we get no cashback?
I have emailed them and suggest that you all do the same!0 -

I think it was discussed before. It means that the illustration is based on £1.00 price, if it goes down to £0.50 per liter, the cashback values will be 1.5p and 3p correspondingly. All my life my mother told me the storm was coming (c) Terminator 30 -
The rebate is 3% on fuel (and 6% in the introductory period).Ethical moneysaver0

Quick question, as I understood the cashback was supposed to be spent on Shell fuel ? I earned some cashback in November, in December bought some petrol from Shell station, ans it was deducted from the main balance, the cashback amount is the same as before, what did I get wrong ?All my life my mother told me the storm was coming (c) Terminator 30

Cashback is accurred each month to be taken out off the balance for the next month's statement.
E.g. for Nov spend, cashback is taken off Dec balance, then for Dec spend taken out of Jan balance etc.0 -

As above, although just to add that you don't see the details of any cashback earned/spent on Shell receipts, but on the monthly Citi statement.0 -
I went to sign up for this card today (22nd April 09) after reading Martyn's article on fuel - but it seems they are no longer accepting applicants for it...
I'm a bit disappointed I didn't see this card earlier, because I live on 5mins from a Shell station which is consistently the cheapest in the area!0
