    Re the 60 days 6% offer - this wasnt possible the 60 days started the day they issue the card so by time you receive it you only have say 56 days. I compalined and they have now raised it to 65 days to allow for postage - result there for the consumer.

    I've just received mine in the post and have a couple of queries about it.

    I buy quite a bit of fuel and other bits for work which is great as I can reap the benefit of the cashback deals but I also have an old balance which I transferred onto this card.

    I will be paying off the new purchases in full every month and a bit towards the debt.

    Am I doing this all wrong? Will the repayments go towards the BT debt meaning that I will pay interest on the new purchases? Should I transfer the balance to a new card?

    Glad I found this thread. I've been putting BP Ultimate diesel in my car since new 4 years ago and have been really pleased with the performance. What I'm not pleased with is the price of it and the enormous profits BP keep announcing. I see Shell have a similar fuel called V-Power so was considering changing over and getting this card to save money. All your comments above regarding price parity with supermarkets has spurred me on so I've just applied for the card. I noticed last week in Ipswich that when Sainsbury dropped their price of unleaded to 94.9, the Shell garage opposite followed suit the same day. Of course this doesn't mean that all the fuel will be cheaper but I've got my fingers crossed.

    si-mate,

    nooooooo.... if you've got a balance transfer don't spend on the card!

    Any payments get allocated to paying off the balance transfer in full, and therefore you will be charged the standard rate on all purchases!

    (see below)

    All payments we receive from you will (unless otherwise required by law) be applied to your Account in the following order:
    9.1 Flex Payments Monthly Instalment (to be applied to each Flex Payment facility in the order of creation);
    9.2 other interest and Account Charges;
    9.3 existing Promotional Balances - lowest rates first;
    9.4 new Promotional Balances - lowest rates first;
    9.5 existing Purchase balances and non-promotional Balance Transfers - in the order in which they were debited to your Account as shown on the monthly statement;

    Dammit! Thanks for the info btw!

    I had hoped to keep it all simple but I suppose I'll have to take out another 0% bt card.

    Offer code refers to leaflets available at Shell garages which I think give 60 days 6% cashback on fuel then reverting to 3% on fuel and 1% on everything else as above.
  • Thanks, does anyone know if the codes are all the same or are they unique to each leaflet?

    I didn't have a code but when I activated the card today the gentleman from India (customer Services) confirmed I would get 60 days at 6% for petrol purchases. Not sure he really knew what he was talking about though as he kept me holding - suspect this might have been a stalling tactic as it is a 0870 number. Just checked the "Say No to 0870" site and found this number: 020 7158 0929. I'll try this when setting up my DD to pay off in full monthly (option only available by ringing customer services, again)
