Mine cost me £60, or around there, for a double bed size and it was money very well spent! I used to be the same, back ache, stiff etc. The topper is gorgeous to sleep on, it's that memory foam stuff and sore backs are a thing of the past now. I got mine from a store which I think is local to Devon - it's called Rainbow, maybe you could google it and see if they deliver?

    Hope this helps!

Around that amount would be more reasonable ...

I am stiff as a board I swear a corpses arent this stiff - in fact I think I actually have rigor mortis!

I google Rainbow and its come up with a company who supply mattress toppers... is that what you mean?

    hi,

I have been doing a bit of research and am now completely baffled ... they all come in different thincknesses and I have no idea what I will need ... will I be ok with the 2.5 (Tesco £70!!) or 3cm ones off the shopping channel or am I better going with something thicker like a 7cm (Ikea) ... then there's memory foam ... looking on other forums some say that theyve paid around £200 for there's and its excellent but then they bought a cheaper one and it was a complete waste....

I will have to do the rounds of ebay, maybe this is the time to take advantage of the low dollar?!?! lol

I bought a 3 inch memory foam topper from ebay for about £40. made a big difference.

Unless you are very light weight I would think you need at least 3 inches.

Mattress toppers of all kinds can be found in Argos: see link below. I bought a memory foam one several years ago and it is one of the best buys I have made. I had a decent but firm mattress, but the ol' bones started to rebel aginst it (old age creeping on I think!!!)

Jen I went and had a look in Rainbow yesterday for you and they're currently retailing at about £100!!!

Maybe they made a mistake in the pricing when I bought mine 'cos they're the same make and everything

The other posters have made some good suggestions, hope you find what you're looking for!

The only way to soften-up a "hard" bed is to do some humping on it

I have a northern nights featherbed from QVC and get a much better sleep, also you have 30 days to try stuff out, if its not suitable just send it back for a full refund.

    Hi,

I have bid on and won a mattress topper off Ebay. It 3 inch and is supposed to be memory foam, I just hoping it sorts the prob as I now feel about 20+ my actual years.

FelOn - lol not sure anything could make a block of concrete more comfortable.

I had the same problem, bad back and hard bed. I got a memory foam mattress topper from here

Since this is in Bury which is not so far from Preston, you could visit the shop and try before you buy. If you do I would advise that you ring first so see if they have one. Also be warned that unless things have changed since I went, the shop is extremely shabby.
