If you decide you want a topper, IKEA deliver now to *most* areas, or you could try ebay.

but their minimum delivery charge seems to be £35

I really hope it will settle down ...

my LL is actually away for the next week or so, I will have to wait until he comes back to ask ...

I just feel so stiff - Im worried I might somehow hurt myself bending or stretching.

I will go over to the sites suggested and price them up.

if it's an IKEA bed, then just be careful buying a topper from a different shop as they have different sizes (made that mistake buying sheets from there once!)

  • You could try Marks and Spencer (clicky).

I ordered 10 new pillows at £6 each but they were £9.50 for two. Then they gave me £12 discount, probably for being a new customer. Finally, I typed freedelv in the promotion box at checkout and saved the £3.50 p&p charge. Total cost £35.50!

And I paid with my Tesco credit card.

    :)

    Jen_L,

I agree with the others - get a mattress topper.

Before giving the next bit of advice, I should point out I am not a doctor/physiotherapist/osteopath/whatever, but have consulted various people over the years for back problems (which, touch wood, seem to have got much better lately).

You said you didn't feel up to walking very far, but you really should try to do so. Stretching isn't enough, you need to go for a good long walk to really loosen everything up. Try taking an anti-inflammatory, such as ibuprofen, before the walk if you really are struggling to move at all. The only time when 'bedrest' is effective is if the muscles in your back are in spasm, and if that's the case, you'll really know about it!

I am not medically or homeopathically qualified, however.

It could also be damp, as in unaired mattress. Try heating the room, or a heated banket. Damp matresses kill my back. Best of luck :~))

Just tried IKEA and couldnt negoiate the site ...

Tried rosbys and they are doing some for £12 and £15 + £3.95 delivery so will either go there when this either doesnt ease in the next week or I am at the end of my tether ... will also look in town at the bedding place to see if they have any.

I would get the duvet from the LL AND get the thickest mattress topper you can. I did get an IKEA mattress topper and now feel I should have paid the extra for the thickest mattress topper. Nevertheless with the thin mattress topper and I have a cheap double duvet (£10 anywhere?) which I fold over double - then if you have visitors staying over you have a spare duvet for them too. I love getting into bed and it's so warm and cosy and luxurious, but the actual bed and mattress were cheap as chips!
