washing thats been rained on

I feel stupid asking this but my brain is mush at the mo (overdue with first baby). Have just rescued some washing from the line outside after a quick rain shower, its not dripping wet, probably about as wet as when it came out of the washer. Just wondering whether you peeps would feel the need to wash your clothes again if they had been rained on or just let them dry again???

Have to admit in the past have used a tumble dryer most of the time which is why I have never thought about the answer to this question before! Am now trying to be more MSE/environmentally friendly!

Thanks for any help! :D

Just another rinse in my eyes, Id peg it back out after the rain has gone. Or if to wet spin again then peg out.

Unless you know the rain is particularly dirty (not joking with this, at the mo you can see the actual dirt of the drop marks on our car!) I'd just peg it back out - but then I'm a believer in healthy dirt :)

I wouldn't feel the need to wash it again, it's only been dampened. I would peg it back out after the rains stopped.

I'd stick it back out on the line later (or air dry inside) Can't see the need to wash again.

Definitely wouldn't bother washing it again.
    Life is too short !
  • I wouldn't bother re-washing either, life's too short!
  • I work full time. So my washing is often rained on. I just leave it out till it dries. I think the record is about a week. If it is still raining I will give it a spin and put it on the airing horse. People at work think it is disgusting not wahing it again. But I think they must have less to do and more money than me. I don't care anyway. At lest if it is still on the line I don't have to iron it.

  • I put a heavy throw out on the line and forgot about it for 3 days.It rained every day and I just left it out till it dried. It is pale cream so I would have seen any rained on dirt easily.
That was 2 weeks ago and it still has that gorgeous fresh air smell about it,probably because it was rained on.
