They should be free imo
I've never been on a plane in my life, but bought these for £3 (i think
) in the hope they work on my RLS.
Thanks KrispiiDuck - just looked and spotted your post. *Must sit on my hands. Must sit on my hands. Must sit on my hands* :rotfl:
:rotfl: Pash8 - what are you like? I didn't order for myself as it's not something I need at the moment, but they DO look very nice at the price. Sad as I am, I do check the sale every day still - just in case!
Let me go and polish my halo!:D
And IF you need something to do with your hands, have a look at this....

Went to the thread but still unclear as to why they have been pulled--the discussion seems to have turned into a rant about chemicals in food !0 -

Still annoyed that Boots might stop points for phone credit. Being skint, it was the only financial justificaton I had for building up points - as it was almost the same as saving money. Saying I want lots of reduced nice lovely smelly things, doesn't sound as financially sensible:rolleyes: .0 -

Do we all really need to save pennies on our smellies? Or is it the thrill of stuff for nothing when we spot a glitch?Or is it the points which we see as 'free'money?
I wonder if the powers that be at Boots are pulling our strings!!!
Yes of course they're pulling our strings. We all think ourselves very smart and of course we are...collectively we can see the cracks in the system and exploit them. But Boots could sort out the till glitches and tighten up the T&Cs on vouchers etc perfectly well. If they wanted to. It's only a question of tweaking the till programming and staff training a little. Boots make a LOT of money...they could afford to do this if they wished.
But they're not because they make money out of us. I don't know about anyone else but I've spent more hard cash per week in Boots since I discovered these threads than I used to spend in a couple of months. I used to buy my toiletries in the supermarket or Superdrug and my gifts from just about everywhere. Now Boots is my first stop for the above list because though it is often a couple of pennies more expensive per item, there's a lot of other good deals to be found, often freebies and of course the points. I don't think I spend more overall though on my above list, just that instead of spreading it around other shops I take my money to Boots.
And this, of course, is what they want. Money. Cash money. The offers and vouchers and points deals are there to get us into the store and spend the cash we would allocate to these items in Boots, not anywhere else. And the deals are good. This works. It's like adding a little sprinkle of sugar on otherwise boring cereal in order to tempt a child to eat it willingly. It gets us through the door. Because I know for a fact I'd not be making the extra effort to go to Boots just to shop for the usual soap and toothpaste if there wasn't anything extra in it for me.
Is it moneysaving for me though? Well yes, if I'm sure I'm either not spending any more cash money but getting more for it, or spending less hard cash to get the same items. I can include the points into the second calculation as long as I use them for wanted and budgeted items.
When it's not moneysaving is when you or I spend extra cash on things just to get freebies or items that you don't necessarily want, or to get points to spend on treats that you wouldn't buy normally if it wasn't for the points. If you've doubled your toiletries and gift budget since you started Bootsing or have a vast cupboardful of things you know in your heart you'll never find any sort of use for...well, that's not moneysaving. If you're getting a lot of fun out of the chase (I know I do!) or really enjoying using the extra luxury products (I do too!) then that's fine too, but it's not moneysaving.
When I first discovered Bootsing I went a bit mad and bought a lot of things that I didn't necessarily need or want. I've calmed down a bit now though and I'm back on track budgetwise, but I still really enjoy the hunt. But this is dangerous! I come on here and read the shopping lists and think "Hmm, that's a good shopping list. I could get....." But then sense prevails...I don't need and can't use handfuls of eyebrow pencils, even at 50p each, any more than I need nappies or six bottles of perfume. (No offence to folk that buys any of the above but I'm an outdoors type...I need soap and suncream more, that's all!) And of course there's a limit to the amount of any one product I can use per year. So now I make a point of stopping and thinking about what I'm doing before I hand over cash.
Hehe...have to say though I've got an afternoon without the kids today and as I've got a bit of spare time and a modest list, I'm intending to go and visit a couple of the bigger Boots I don't normally go to. But that's for fun and I'm as well doing this as going to buy cream cakes or more cheap Easter eggs, no? Am I sad or what?Val.0 -

As far as I can see the medicines have been pulled for the same sort of reasons that you can only buy two packs of paracetamol or other painkillers in the supermarkets ie some people are too stupid to read the labels and pay heed to the warnings about keeping below a certain dosage limit for various drugs, especially when using multiple products that each contain that drug. Or they think that if one spoonful is good, two is better.
Or confused. I admit some folk do get confused rather than are just stupid. I have to keep a very sharp eye on what my mother is doing with her drugs just because she is not as sharp as she used to be and doesn't understand the interactions. So I dole them out into her daily and weekly pill boxes and keep the rest under lock and key. If however a child is involved (smaller body means that they're less tolerant of overdoses) and the parent can't manage to get to grips with drug dosages for whatever reason, then someone has to do something to protect the child I suppose.Val.0
