  • Wow! Well done to all of you who got the Med glitch on the giftsets.
Went to Darlington today in the hope of finding some different goodies, another day, another clearance stand, you know how it is. I was very disappointed though, no clearance, no No7 nail sets, no Med soap, no Expert tins, in fact I didn't spend a single point or penny in Boots today. I'm now consoling myself with a big slice of Yorkshire curd tart from Thomas the Bakers, it was worth the journey just for that. :D

Asked about Expert tins in Darlington but was told they were an old GWP from Jan/Feb  and that they had none in stock. Boo hoo.

Bunbun2, I didn't get chance to go into the Arnison Centre, got back to Durham tired and hungry so gave it a miss. I can't beleive the nerve of that manager though, the SA told me yesterday that they had loads of them. I think I might phone CS tomorrow and ask what's going on, there seems to be quite a few stores that don't have them, but to just keep them back in the storeroom and then fib about it......aaargh that makes my blood boil.
Here just for you is a scan of my receipt from yesterday showing the Expert GWP from the Arnison centre store.

I was passing through swiss cottage today and decided to pop into boots. I am soooo glad I did. As I walked through the door I spotted 6 S&G steamy shower sets:j SEL 15.00. I took one to till and asked SA to scan it. Till said 1.87:T I grabbed 3 more and paid with points:j SA was shocked at the price and asked me to go and get the last 2 for her:rotfl:

Well done to everyone who got the expensive med freebies with AC soap voucher:TI was so excited about finding the S&G sets (paid 7.50 previously for 1:eek: ) I forgot to look for the med stuff:o I only have the one voucher though (must check DD card tomorrow;) ) because when I tried the glitch the other day - and it didn't work, the SA threw my voucher in the bin:mad:

:o Hi there, Sorry but just read your post after a rather tiring, expensive day in London. I am sorry if I didn't make it clear in my previous posts but I am afraid the Luton store is one of the stores where the 'till bleeps' at the mediterranean glitch. I tried two different SA's and tills yesterday but it bleeped for both. The second SA said I should go to the Pharmacy till where they have a key to over-ride it but I knew that would mean I get the soap free not the body wash (which was the Mediterranean Almond Wheatgerm & Milk Body Wash that I tried with the soap and voucher from the ACM!!) can you add Luton to the 'List of Stores where the voucher bleeps' please. Thanks.

Wierdly enough I found, as did a friend, when I had to borrow a nappy(stupid me!!!)that the pampers active fit leak more than normal ones when the move lol. Also, the tabs are harder to get stuck again if you are rubbish/have a squirmer and need to reposition the tabs. I use huggies natural generally, then staydry/superdry whatever they are called for shopping trips(my little man does not stop drinking) and at night as they soak up great. Get wierd jelly stuff on their skin though.

Plus I am a bit of a hippy and will not buy proctor and gamble branded goods, so will not use pampers anyway
Broclo, have you (or anyone) used Boots own brand nappies recently? I'm just wondering what they are like these days, on behalf of my youngest sister (who is also a bit of a hippy) Her first baby is due soon and she's wondering which brand of disposables to buy.

Years ago when I had my babies and the NHS provided nappies while you were in hospital, they used Boots own brand nappies and they were excellent. I used them for my 3 and much preferred them over other brands, no leaks etc. plus they were an awful lot cheaper.

Are they any good these days?

I buy Tesco own brand and better than Pampers and Huggies. Tried Boots but think we had a dodgy pack as leakages galore!

  • Does anyone know if you can buy "larger" nappies or do you have to buy newborn ones to get the free changing bag? My niece is having a baby soon so thought i'd get her one but she doesn't like pampers nappies so will be using huggies. My little boy is in size 4+ but not sure whether I could get away with buying bigger nappies? Anyone else tried this?

my dd is nearly 2 and when registering my OH for a advantage card, was asked if he had any children so put dd's details down and they sent him a voucher. so i took it and asked them and they said i could buy the bigger size so i got a pack of size 5 nappies... and the free bag. which is good as i gave the last one away. :D HTH

Thanks Nine Tails for replying. I have not long been back from a rather hectic day in London and remember now why I hardly ever go to London (especially on a Saturday -along with 3 DD's and a DH who hates shopping!!!) Today was the end of my weeks holiday from work (I normally work all day Saturday) and because I worked hard last month and did alot of overtime I decided to treat the kids and DH to Madame Tussauds. Weather was terrible and after alot of pushing and shoving on trains and tubes we went first to the National History Museum and then to Oxford Street. After a visit to my eldest DD's favourite two shops Topshop and H&M ...
I think another trip to Boots is called for to cheer me up!!!
Sorry for yet another LONG post - friends are always telling me I talk too much!!!!:o

Oh you poor things jemclajess. It was a wretched day today, and the tube is miserable at the best of times let alone a yucky day like today, and term break as well. Our two DDs just love Oxford St Topshop and H&M coz they're so big and their mother's purse is so deep, lol. I think Mme T's is overrated and so expensive, better stick to Boots - better value for money!

PS: What is the "cla" short for?
