The legislation states that the responsibility is the NRP's, so if the payment hasn't reached the destination, the liability is the NRP's. It is unfair, but that is how it is unfortunately.
  • Its ok now everyone! we had a phone call of the kids mother and shes sick to the back teeth of them too! so we are going to pay directly now that she is in full time employment! Im awaiting a call from the post office with reference numbers for the payments so he can phone them up and wait for an appology! guess he will be waiting years for that! (im referring to threats of court action and abrupt conversations) Guess they arent always right, alot of fathers WANT TOO AND DO PAY MAINTENANCE!

WANT TOO AND DO PAY MAINTENANCE!

No one is disputing that and I don't think anyone on this board has ever came out and said that. It's not like we are a bunch of man hating P'sWC but I think you will find that generally it IS P'sWC having problems getting payments from NRP's - who are mainly but not exclusively the father - who are on this board looking for advice about the CSA and general support.

Glad everything worked out well for you :)

I know it is not exclusively fathers, my brother has custody of his 3 children so im aware of that.

I know that everyone isnt a bunch of man haters! We all have our opinions i guess and ive only voiced mine in the same way. When i said about them paying and wanting too im talking about things in general, there are alot out there that dont pay and its easy for people to assume that you might be one of those (not that anyone said that on this forum, again im aware of that)

Im just venting lol!! Its a big kick in the teeth when you are one thats "does" want to pay and provide but get treated as though your not (again i know they are following rules and regulations)

Anyone im going now! thanks! :j

Friends son is 16 in August, has already left school, not working and won't be going to college - does he still have to pay maintenance after then? Or does it stop when he gets a job? What if he doesn't get a job?

    TIA

My partner is in a similar position to the OP so I can sympathise. His child is due to start college in september, doing nails and beauty course, she also works 4 days a week in a retail shop and does not live with the claiming parent.I would be interested to know which college courses are exempt, I have looked on the DWP website but cant find the answer.
OH daughter is nearly 17, how long do we have to pay.We have 2 children too and it puts a strain on us financially.BTW it was not his fault he became a NRP and his ex told him she was unable to concieve, he did not want children with her.She had suffered a miscarriage at 20wks before he got together with her and she said an obstetrician told her she would never have children after the op she had, she later admitted lying so it isnt always the NRP fault.Does anyone know which courses are exempt?

So why is your OH paying to support his childs mother?

Her child is out there supporting herself - why is the Mother getting money??
