I'm really really annoyed.
I signed up to start doing Avon. Knowing that my mum has an Avon Rep I telephoned to ask if she'd rather get it from me. Mum was at work, so my Dad informed me NO.
His reasons behind this are, he thinks I should be at home all day doing housewifey stuff, and that we should have enough money as hubbie is working. Okay so he isn't aware of my debts, but why can't he be supportive. Its not like I'm asking him to deliver the books etc!!!
Just to put icing on the cake, I told him that no one could find our deposit, so he looks like we've lost £300 and he said 'oh well never mind, you don't need it'!!! Since when!! I'm fuming, I'm fed up with trying to get out of a hole only to be knocked back. I'm trying so hard to move forward. If I talk to him, he'll only give me a hard time.
Thanks for reading this, I just need to get it out of my system before I explode.

Hello,
thought I'd better dash off a quick sympathy reply before you explode
Sounds like you're surrounded by very old fashioned / traditonal / male chauvinists  .
Your dad sounds a bit like mine, we went out for lunch a while back & he suddenly announced to me that he didnt agree with my lifestyle ( he means being a single parent) at all, although he did concede that judging by my two girls I am rather good at it  . I think that was meant to be a compliment . but it came across as very patronising.
Dumb x b/f round & moaning that I'm not paying him attention ( he's off abroad tomorrow :j ) so I'd better be all feminine just for tonite  , will chat tomorrow

now hubbie has said he doesn't want me doing it! Just can't win!!!
will go to bed and decide tomorrow whether or not to do it. Can't deal with so much negative.
thanks

Hugs Charlotte, maybe you could put the avon on hold until you are feeling less stressed? I did it when I was depressed, worst thing I ever did, stressed increased as I just couldnt face going out there and collecting the books, then the area manager would ring and have a go about me not meeting my targets. The same targets she had claimed didnt exist when she promised I could do as much or as little as I wanted grrrrrr. If everyone is against you then maybe concentrate your efforts elsewhere, what about the cleaning? Could you do extra then?
Either way :grouphug:0 -
Hi Charlotte
Hope tomorrow dawns a bit brighter - you seem to work so hard it's very unfair to get knocked back like this. Cleosmum has good advice, but sounds like you've already taken on a lot.
best wishes

Many thanks for your kind replies.
Well have 'slept' on it (didn't get much sleep). Have decided to email the AM and tell her I've over committed myself.
Also remembered it wasn't always 'easy' and the money was never a fixed income each time, so am better doing cleaning and extra hours at the shop, as it is.
I'll be honest, the woman was meant to come at 11.30 but I was out (slightly on purpose) and when I got home she rang to say she was running late! I was a hour late myself! I took it as a 'sign', that it was meant to be.
So am now off to email her, will offer to post brochures back to her.
Thanks again for your kindness, I get a bit carried away at times, and I'm panicking over hubbie being at home next week.

well avon AM is quite pessisant that I 'try'. Will email her again to tell her NO WAY.
Went to work at the shop this morning, cleaned one holiday home for an agent and my private holiday home.
The owners where at my private, and they also run a B&B locally, and have asked me to do a couple of hours a day making beds to help them out. Was really chuffed to be asked, have talked to hubbie, so just waiting for him to agree to have the kids!
I can see a way forward now. Have also started Christmas shopping for the children, have seperate savings for this, so am going forward!

Hello,
great news about extra work, more money & more time for you - even if it is doing chores at least you'll be paid.
Really pleased for you hon

Hello again.:hello:
I think you telling the Avon AM that you cannot take it on is actually a really positive step. You have made a decision that it is too much for you to do, admitted you are not and do not have to be superwoman, and then stuck to your guns! Congratulations!
The regular stuff at the local B&B sounds good as well. Manageable, will fit into a routine and hopefully dependable!
Well done! :dance:_party_:beer:

I start work at the B&B on Thursday, can do however many days I like so it should fit in okay with everything and everyone.
Have emailed Avon AM again. Hopefully she'll let it go.
Took hubbie to hospital today for his operation. Have managed to upset myself, and worrying myself stupid! Keep crying, and wondering what the heck I'd do if he died!! Morbid or what!?!?!?
Ebay sales have done well, made £40 so am well chuffed. Will keep in my paypal account as Christmas spending money.
Just want to say thank you to everyone who gives me support. It means alot to know you are out there.
