My house is very old and so they find allsorts of ways to get in.
I tried catching them and letting them outside but they kept getting back in.
I bought traps and used both chocolate and strong smelling cheese (which did work for me) which got rid of most of them.
I also bought a quite expensive sonar plug in which they supposedly dont like but I could hear it beeping all the time and it didnt seem to stop them really. (maybe mine was faulty or maybe I have very determined mice?)
I have moved the food source which helped but they still come in occasionally, I ve just got used to it now.0 -
You should try rats.....
Got a big rat trap......waited......
the trap caught the rat across the nose, not its neck. So it was thrashing around. My girlfriend had to kill it, using a piece of baton to crush its throat! Nasty0 -
Evening
Well number 4 has just been evicted  Does this seem excessive? I am going to call the council & housing association in the morning.
Has anyone ever had posion laid down? Im worried that they will crawl off and die somewhere  The Mars bar is working a treat!
Helpppppp.

I hope you are not just evicting them from your property.
They will return from over a mile away so just taking them for a walk won't answer the problem. If you tagged them you would find they cross water and climb cliffs and follow hedgerow bottoms to get back to where they came from might take a week or so but they will return.
They aren't an endangered species but a pest and would be better dead.
I meant to say that 4 isn't an excessive number, could easily be 10 in the family. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

When I had my little lodgers I was advised to use chocolate as bate by several people.
I put down various traps and poison - none worked
I borrowed my sisters cat - lost her & luckily found her again after 24 hours
I cleaned out all my cupboards - think they appreciated that
Eventually I worked out that they were getting in through the airbricks, my cousin covered them with a fine mesh and I have now got a cat of my own. She is no great mouse catching (great with moths though) but is a loving addition to our family and leaves an offputting feline scent in my home.
(Touch wood) I am now mouse free.
Try to work out where they are getting in otherwise as fast as you get them out they will either get back in, send out invites to friends and distant family or breed at the rate of knots.
Good Luck0 -
Hi
I didnt want to go into gory details but all 4 are well and truly dead
Thanks

We had a problem with mice a few years back, when a new estate was being build down the road. We caught 13 of the little bligters in total! We baited the traps with chocolate raisens tied to the trap with fuse wire, caught them every time. They got smaller and smaller the more we caught. They were in the loft and kitchen, but did pass one in the hall one night!!!! Had no problems since. No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

I did well with choccy peanuts when we had an infestation around my compost heap.
The trap was a conventional 'Tom & Jerry' style thing, but in aluminium rather than the nasty wooden things that don't seem to work.
I heard the first 'SNAP' as I was walking back down the garden (And we have a very small garden!) after setting it. Second victim within 2 hours of re-setting it! It got about 8 in total over a 4 day period.
Little Bug**rs!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
