£200 on my (now reduced) holding of £30K. 6% over the past 6 months. My husband (with 50K) less happy... I think he mentioned £50. He's wavering.......#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3662

Nothing this month on a £3,000 holding, but I won £100 last month so not complaining. Out of interest, if loads of people cash in their bonds as they’re saying here they might do so that there are fewer bonds for Ernie to pick from, does that raise the likelihood of winning for the people who remain?0

this is a monthly thing but rarely anyone actually goes through with it.christmaslights said:...Out of interest, if loads of people cash in their bonds as they’re saying here they might do...
I got 3x 100 and 1x 25 on 21k this month. Happy with that.0 -
No, it just means the number of prizes are reduced and the win % stays at the same rate. However, NS&I have income targets to hit and if they're running below their targets they will need to (further) increase the prize rate to generate income. So I therefore fully encourage all waverers to proceed with their withdrawals!christmaslights said:Nothing this month on a £3,000 holding, but I won £100 last month so not complaining. Personally we have maxed out our ISAs this year and are having to be careful not to go over the tax limit from general savings. So Premium Bonds will remain part of our savings for the rest of this financial year at a minimum, though they are by a distance our lowest earner, even though we're running at slightly above the average prize rate.0 -
£25 on a £32k holding.

Someone won £25k last month - I think that's the biggest I've seen. A few £1000 and £500s.2

A good read for premium bond holders, interview with the CEO - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-12263099/Are-Premium-Bonds-REALLY-handing-prizes-savers.htmlIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

To be fair, the rest of that post illustrated that the thread starter was actually interested in validating their theory that newer bonds are luckier than old ones so wanted people to share details of how long they'd held bonds for as well as winnings, i.e. it wasn't originally intended as a simple 'show and tell' thread but to support analysis of the age of winning bonds:justwantedtosay said:
You say that as if it's wrong for people to report their winnings but the original post was asking for exactly that;2010 said:
It won`t be quite from tomorrow when we have the monthly.RedImp_2 said:This thread should become a lot quieter then with all these people cashing their holdings in. Although seems some people like to still come on here and offer their advice
" I won X amount on X amount holding".
and "Nothing this month on X amount holding"."im interested in winning premium bond holders , or not as the case may be , please post your winnings and holding..."
Having said that, the theory about newer bonds being luckier has been debunked repeatedly over those 18 years (during which something like 98% of all bonds have been purchased)!trademark said:im interested in winning premium bond holders , or not as the case may be , please post your winnings and holding as well as length of time held , i have a theory that newer bonds win more prizes...0
