Is 'pay into a direct saver' one of the options on their claim form?Keswick1uk said:Prize checker.
I was on holiday visiting family and couldn't sleep and realised it was gone midnight. So I opened the checker and it said two prizes.
The first was £50 so I was delighted as I knew the second was £50 minimum too and really happy with £100 win . I swiped and couldn't believe my eyes! All those zeros!
Woke my husband with a "its OK its good but you have to wake up" he wasn't particularly happy as you can imagine until he saw it!
The checker then explains a claim form is in the post for it. I was delayed in applying because I was away and sent it off on 12th.0 -
Not as such.
Pay into your prizes nominated account is an option. So if your direct saver is your nominated account, it should work that way.
Other options IIRC are cheque, investment into PBs (with a warning on maximum), or a bit of each.1 -
Oh, I think there were boxes to enter bank account details as well, if you want it transferred directly into a bank account.

I was just comparing Premium Bond rates to the BoE base rate. (Yes, I know the overwhelming majority of holders will get nowhere near the headline figure; I'm on 1.5% APR this year.)
Last June the overall return on PBs was 40% higher than the base rate.
Assuming the base rate goes up 25bp next week, the base rate will be more than 40% higher than the PB return this July.
I'm sure many holders hang on thinking their luck will change, but why would anyone buy PBs now, other than a small number just for a bit of fun?

Because, when it comes to premium bonds, you just can't reason with some peoplejustwantedtosay said:I'm sure many holders hang on thinking their luck will change, but why would anyone buy PBs now, other than a small number just for a bit of fun?

Fabulous! This increase in fund for prizes is really making an impact0

Placed in a one year fix, a full holding could return twice that of PBs assuming an effective 2.7% rate having not increased for a while now - but that fix isn't tax free of course. Then it would be possible to make a post every month/ saying 'Ive just received another £230 interest'.0
