Nothing again, has been 8 months with a 30k holding..

    Miffed..

The chances of winning nothing in a single draw with a max holding is about 58% currently. The chances of going 8 consecutive draws without a win is therefore 0.58^8 or about 1.34%. You have been quite unlucky to be in the bottom 1.34% but there are still a lot of people "below" you. I don't know how many bondholders there are but there are about 40 billion bonds so working on an arbitrary average holding of 10,000 that makes 4 million holders so there would be over 50,000 people even less lucky than you.

I hope this makes you feel better.

Got £25 this month, same as last month. Two previous months were £0.
On full holding. (going by the odds you should win £25, 4 out of 5 months on the full holding.

I've been looking at the odds, and if done in the right way a savings account (2.33%Gross - 1.864net) with the interest (Minus what you expect to get in £25 PB Prizes) spent on lottery tickets can give you better odds at winning a large prize. I can post the full odds on a new thread if you want a look.

This was my last month giving the government a cheap loan. :D

The odds of winning on PB's are directly related to interest rates which are at historically low levels just now. The odds of winning on the lottery are not affected by the bank rate so it is not surprising that at present they are better. In normal times PB's offer better odds than Lotto if you ignore the contribution to "good causes".

Is there an easy way to tell if you are on the high value prize list or do you just serach through the list?
  • Before the prize list you can click on "to see if you're a winner etc."

You have to search through it until the checker is updated, usually about the second day of the month.

Thanks. Thought that would be the case.
