The list of winners over £1000 is published every month on http://www.nsandi.com/products/pb/winnerlist.jsp, along with their full holding, and the date the winning bond was purchased.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before - not going to wade through 89 pages of the thread to find out ;)

With max holdings, my returns have been £850, £1,000, £1,200 and currently £875 in the last four years. Any prize is always welcomed, and under the current climate a £1,000 prize becomes a real winner in terms of looking for extra interest. At the end of the day its like the Lottery, the big prize is the attraction and you've got to be in it to win it.

I have £3000 and my husband has £4500.

I have won £25 this month.

We've only rcently upped it to those amounts. We have had several £50 and £100 prizes over the years, I'm sure it's at least kept pace with a savings account.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Congratulations :) I left mine (1k) in thinking there may be hope for at least a £25 win but nothing, so I sent the withdrawal request for immediately after the 1 June draw.

    I won £50 yipppeee........

but that was in 2007 I think...............nothing after that.

Mind you I put £100 into premium bonds in Aug 2005, got a return of £50.

And then bought another lot of £200 immediately (clever arnt I ? NOT)

Then bought some more last year - got around £1300-£1400 I think (not worked out how much) - only that £50 return.

It seems to me, looking at the big prize winners, that the big prize winners seem to have large holdings, usually over £20k to make a decent return.

Anyone wishing to give me their premium bonds? Eherm Cough Splutter, Dont all rush! I iz a poor man I iz!

just invested £5000 in premium bonds from ireland. think i am on a winner as sterling is weak at the moment but should recover in the next 18 months against the euro and i can withdraw and take the uplift and any prizes that come with it.
