They only started to publish the £1000 winners in February.
They used to stop at the £5000. It just makes it look as if there is a lot of winners.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Just put a full allocation back into premium bonds, not because I think it's a better why of earning interest but because savings rates are so low that I'd rather take my chances and have the excitement of waiting for the cheques to arrive in the hope of a decent win. Have to wait until April for first inclusion, any ideas at what point of the month they draw and ppl receive cheques?0

Publish "big" winners 1st day of month, remainder by the 3rd. - I suspect the draw is in last couple of days of previous month.
Payouts, obviously, biggies first ....
Last 50 I won came by mid-month.0 -

Same here.
I would have had 6K saved in my Nationwide Instant Cash ISA by now but decided that I preferred the chance of winning a prize or two on the Premium Bonds.
Had I left 6K where it was, it would be now earning just £30 a year, now that Nationwide have dropped the Instant Cash ISA rate down to just 0.5% from today.
1 x £50 win on the Premium Bonds would surpass the interest earned in 18 months stuck in the Nationwide.
I have 108,000 bond numbers (6000 a month for the next 18 months) entered in the draws and with average luck I could win something. Even if i don't, my money is 100% safe and all I have lost is the paltry interest.0 -
I have had £200 invested since Sept 05 and not won anything (wouldn't have expected anything anyway!) but have now started to put some money into PB's each month so you never know.
When I was younger I had some PB's invested and won quite often (this was probably about 15 years ago now!)Save £12K IN 2013 Member #217 £3654.88/£6,000 (60%)

My wife and I have got ~ £27K in bonds split pretty evenly between us; I've won 6 prizes since September last year - she hasn't won any! Shows how "average" luck works!0

I had premium bonds bought for me in 1965 when I were a lad. They have not generated a single penny. I just keep the Bond cert pinned up on my notice board in front of my computer to remind me if I ever weakened NEVER to buy any myselfLiquidity is when you look at your investment portfolio and **** your pants0

I bought £3000 worth in Nov 2001 , won £750 up until last prize in July 08 , 1 x £100 and rest £50"s .
Never cashed , all were reinvested , wife has had £300 worth since 71 , not a win .
It was a £2000 block that got most of my prizes .0
