Following an earlier post I am now giving up on PBs. My 29.8k holding has given me £50 in the last 8 draws.
The woman had nsandi suggested it was becasause they are in lots of separate blocks and that I should pull it all out and reinvest in one lump.
I am not losing another two months interest so I am out, though will probably leave ~1k in just in case.0 -
has no one else won this month

Yes, £50 - so these are my winnings since the first draw my bonds were entered in, in May:
January: £50
December: 0*
November: £100*
October: 0
September: £50
August: £50
July: £50
June: £100
May: £100
(Holding £30k except months marked with an asterisk when my holding was £25k)..0 -
mister t ........ i cant believe the women at nsandi actually said that ..... makes no sense as it contradicts their advice ??? , i still feel that regenerating your bonds will bring prizes though , i know many will disagree but i had a similar situation ... lots of wins ... got to the max holding then nothing for 11 months .
i feel its important to be invested elswhere as well as holding bonds also
no win this month ..... holding now £11,2000 -

Got to look on Premium Bonds as a gamble that comes off for very few.
Since I've had 30k worth my return as been about 2%/year or half what I'd could get on a savings account when tax is paid.
As the draw is supposed to be random I can't see how the bonds are distributed makes any difference. More bonds gives a better chance of winning.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
When we sold our house about 18 months ago we put the max into P.Bonds (3 of us at £30K). We had them in there for about 16 months. My bonds won on average 100-300 per month, my sons won about 50 every month. My husbands were useless. He won about £100 overall. Not a great return on £90K but the chance was still there. I think they are great fun if you don't need to rely on the interest. But going back to your point, our bonds were all bought at the same time and won differing amounts over the same period.
Good luck with yours.0 -

Ohmygawd. Even the people who run the system believe the utter myth that having them in blocks is better! She was quite happy to advise you to throw away an expected £74.50 (1 month's winnings on £29,800, or double that if you time it wrong) on the grounds of this mathematically laughable tosh.0 -

When you roll a dice, the chance of getting a six is 1 in 6. But you can easily roll it 6 times and not see a single six.0
