  • congrats to the winners this month. I have also been lucky.

I have made a few observations.
-On average it take about 2 yrs before your bond actually wins......well thats not a hard and fast rule...but the bonds i hold that are less than 2yrs have not won. I know there have been a few high bond winners who have bought bonds very recently.
-Another observation is that, winning bonds keep winning. Has any one else found that. If u have multiple bonds and the ones that win, is mostly likely to win again. I have one bond that has won 5 times.:j I am not complaining.

Well here is hoping for next month.:T

It is random, what you experience someone else won't!

You might be the only one with a 2 year average before winning and you might also be the only one who has had the same bond win 5 times, the odds must be very small on that happening.

I've not experienced either and held bonds for over 30 years, everyone's experience is different, that is the luck of the draw. There are no hard and fast rules.
  • I've just checked mine - 1 X £100 and 2 x £50 - that'll do for me!

Put the money in the top cash ISA, or if you’re a non-taxpayer just using a top savings account paying 6.3% and you’d earn £157.50 (assuming the interest is paid out each month). If you put the same amount in Premium Bonds there is an 88.6 % chance you will earn less than this.

So, you lost and Lizzie won your money.

    :)

  • GG .... A clever statement .... but i am fully invested in ISA'S and have money here there and everywhere , pb's are just a matter of choice , a risk yes .... i won 150 last month , so whos 50 quid did i take .... its easy to look at it like that and technically you are correct ...but it seems that time and time again its pointed out that pbs are for losers .... when in fact i and the other max holders probably dont really care .....

Also .... im not a non tax payer .... far from it , try super tax ...its loads of fun, so enlighten me on how i can produce £157 quid from 30k ... please do

Martins calculator is rubbish at working out how much your going to win ... because its random ... down to luck .. so therefore his calculator simply does not work

    Duuhhh!

[sarcasm]No fooling you eh. Sharp as a proverbial tack.[/sarcasm]
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
  • Jon .... lol ...... i know but it seems it needs pointing out that someone wasted probably a week of his or hers life creating that calculator......

M3 ..... i think your going to have to not win for quite some time before you show a loss on pb's ... ;-) ... and well done i say ......
