i recently bought a few items on asda shopping. i took the no substitution service. they got 2 things wrong, so 1 item returned to the delivery man the other to the asda shop where i know the produce came from.. used my £10 voucher as well. Total cost £30. They accept the £10 voucher hence only paid £20. as for the return item, initially they did not record in my shopping statements hence i emailed them. They rang next morning apologising and made a rebate at the same time. Did try to contact the local asda shop manager beforehand but he is usesless , keep promising to ring back but never did.0

Lady_K wrote:Is that the call center in South Africa? I had to call with a query and its absolutely atrocious customer service. One query was about the duvet cover I ordered and I was told it wasn't thier department they didn't do duvets on groceries they didnt even know! I was passed around and told they would ring me back they didn't and when I called back again the person hadnt even logged my call and I was a new customer not yet ordered
I wondered how people got on with refunds, is it the same number to call because there is echoing, broken lines, they don't understand at all what you are talking about and its an 0845 number do they refund your card?
Well, I've just been onto them again (5pm on a Sunday - not bad!). I do suspect that it is a call centre in another country - again I ended up speaking to someone with a strange accent, although it wasn't too difficult to understand. The main problem seems to be actually hearing them - one of their own staff from a local store complained about it to me - she seems to think they use those boom mics (badly!).
Anyway, after the abysmal delivery I received the other day, I checked my bank account and discovered they had charged me the full price for my order, but with a £2 refund. After 20 minutes of trying to explain myself it turned out that it takes up to 10 (working?) days for them to refund your account - although strangely they'd managed to make a refund for one undelivered item (a toothbrush!) without bothering with the rest.
But then it turned out that the refund already apparently on its way to me wasn't the right amount anyway - she listed the items included in the "refund" and several were missing, including the "substitute" items that i'd returned because they weren't suitable (and it took a while for her to understand that it shouldn't be down to me to ring up about returned substitutions, it should be automatic). So now I've got no idea what's going on. I'll just have to wait and see - I should maybe charge Asda for my time as an accounts clerk!!
I'm feeling rather annoyyed with them - yes they're good value for money - but if I have to muck about like this each time, it just isn't worth it. :mad:0 -

Sorry to hear of the bad service you received. I used tescos for years, recently switched to Asda's and haven't looked back.
Once they sustitued watermelon with yellow melon. As I don't like yellow melon I gave it back. The driver made a note of this and withing a couple of days the amount for the watermelon was refunded.
My 10 pounds off WAS NOT on my delivery note, but it still came off EVEN though my order was below the minimum 35 pounds spend (after returning substitutions.
Luckily I have never had to use the customer service line as I have had perfect customer service.
I ordered 6 smartprice mangos (44p each) and they had ran out, so they subsituted with 6 large normal mangoes (89p each). But they still only charge you the original price (44p) despite getting a better product. Its been that way with all cheap/special offers they have needed to substitute (they give you a better product for the same price).
I have had 5% of items substituted, and with the exception of the yellow melon, the substitutions have always been fine or sometimes great (I end up hoping that they will have run out of the cheap/value products I have ordered).Watch the pennies and the pennies watch the POUNDS! :j
