Now that the wedding is over and done with we're soon going to try and start a little family - but me being me want to do it MSE/OS stylee to a degree... I can't promise you I'll use only washable nappies but I'll try! But what other things should I start thinking about???
I'm going to start crocheting again to make sure I have things like blankies (in white so I just have to add a pretty material border round it in a relevant colour ;) ) and little booties etc ready.
What OS things have worked for you and what hasn't? What things did you find that modern ways just beat hands down when it came to life with a babby?

Like you, I adore crocheted stuff. However, when my son had an op a month or two ago, there was a tiny little lad (4wks) who had been put to nap with a crocheted blanket on. When his mum went to get him, he'd got his little finger stuck......to the point they had to bring him to hospital to get it removed. He had to go down to surgery :(
I was horrified, as I'd used crocheted blankets for all of my little ones. I just never thought of it like that. Might be worth considering :)
Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

hello again, your sickness should go at around 3 mths into your pregnancy. i was very lucky not to suffer from any in my pregnancies. if you need more baby stuff another good place is carboot sales. if you dont mind secondhand you can pick up some real bargains, dont forget your baby will grow so quickly especially in the first few weeks that clothes is either hardly worn at all or new still, just give it a good wash and it will be ready to go. i had a home visit from my midwife yesterday, and she say`s the baby is fully grown so we are just waiting for him to make his appearance now. he`s not due for just under 3 weeks yet and all my other 3 were about 3 or 4 days late so im not that hopefully that he will arrive early. hoping he does as ive had to have a few growth scans and my midwife thinks he`s going to be about 9.2/9.4lbs, agghh. my biggest was 8.12 and i had him os at home, but am starting to panic about this ones size and the limited drugs available for a homebirth!. good luck to everyone else expecting will pop back soon.xx

Congratulations, betterlife, and welcome to Cody Madison.

I've got grandchild no.5 due in 3 weeks time - and it's a boy :D. Son has been teasing me (at least I HOPE he's teasing me) by saying that this one will be called Boris!

yes you can stuff a slinky minki with a normal terry. microfibre cloths are good to use too. Or even buy the pads she sells to stuff them with., called soakers.
