Just for comparison easymobile.com emailed us a pac code in about 5 minutes after filling in the form on the site and it arrived in the post a day later also.
O2 then gave a date 7 days later the number would become active on.0 -
ask the customer service advisor at Vodafone to give it to you over the phone. They often will. Otherwise you could end up waiting weeks for the letter to not arrive....0

It depends what you mean. If you mean to be issued with a PAC, then
you should be able to get it instantly. As far as I'm aware, anyhow. I know that T-Mob do them instantly.
For the actual transfer - it's 5 working days from the day that you give the new provider your PAC. No negotiation involved, it just is.0 -
O2 (see my previous thread) said 48 hours, with the deadline fast approaching. Why it takes so long I dont know, I got mine on the spot with Orange, after some negotiation I got it on the spot with T-Mobile and IIRC Vodafone gave it instantly too.
Does anyone know if on 3 you have to give the PAC Number at time of signing up or can you do it at anytime??Wycombe Till I Die0 -
In system terms (at T-mobile) there is nothing to stop the PAC code being generated immediately by the Customer Service Agent. The actual transfer takes longer but it is all automatically done by the companies computer systems0

You can port your old number to 3 after you've received your new handset. Simply dial 333 from your new phone and give them your PAC and old number. Transfer take about 7 days.0 -
for o2 pac codes try:

O2 Gave my PAC code over the phone without me having to ask...If you want to speed it up, give them another call, be nice yet firm and ask for the PAC code over the phone.
What I tended to do was disable the number display on the new phone so that none of my contacts could get it, and enable call forwarding from the old phone number. I was only unreachable for an hour in the change-over process....0
