Looks a great deal...where's the catch

As a mother of a 14 year old I would say its a good choice and once the £10 for the month is used along with the texts, thats it until the next month is my policy

Tizz, if you're going to get the SIM Online Pay as you Go 'Talkalot with Messages' you will find that it costs £9.99 on the o2 website. You can get it cheaper on ebay but if you use this link and then click on 'Sim Only' in the left hand 'Browse and Buy' menu and scroll down to the Pay as you Go Tariffs you will get it for only 99p delivered

If Tizz needs 02 simcards, I have a drawer full she can have a couple

Sorry if this is too late but scancom (and others) do deals on t-mobile u-fix tariffs - these have the advantage that (a) the phone user can not spend more than the inclusive minutes without buying top ups (b) there is the option to pay for the package upfront and then get the cashback as soon as the bill showing payment is received - so only one claim plus less time for the supplier to go broke, potentially a free phone and free minutes/texts, top ups still possible and no surprise bills - I think this is your solution.I think....0

Well I hope I've done the right thing - I have been and gone and done it anyhow. I thought the Sim would come with the phone?!? - On the 02 website, the phone is £69.99, I clicked to select the K700i and it then asked me to choose a tariff - frankly it just said "blah blah blah" to me, but I stuck a pin in (well read it and thought this was the option that would be best, but my brain had seized up by then) and clicked on the talkalot with messages option, it then took me to part with my £69.99, which is all it asked for - I assumed (and we know what that did!) that would include a Sim to actually get me onto the tariff I had requested it didn't mention another £9.99 - oh why is it all so baffling for a "grown up" and yet so easy for the "youff" to fathom - I feel old.
BTW DD gets £5 a week (if she does her maths program on the computer), my plan was to give her £5 of the £10 a month she needs and she has to put the other £5 up, leaving her with £15 for the month - she is only 11, and 'currently' has no interest in shopping, clothes etc (I can still get away with Primark for her) she hasn't made it to the full £20 yet, as she has to do her maths for 15 mins 3 times a week for £5 and she doesn't always qualify each week cause she skips a session - just not interested enough in money - yet!

Tizz, the £69.99 will include the sim with it. You can change the tariff simply by sending a text message when you get the phone and sim to either of the options they presented. 100 mins/100 texts/33 pictures/mix or 300 texts/100 pictures/mix.0

It may be me confusing you Tizz as the prices I quoted were for the sim only. When you said you were going to buy a refurbished phone I thought you would buy it without a sim. My daughter used to be on Virgin payg and she was spending £15/£20 a month on topups for texting so I got her phone unlocked and got her a 99p sim and she only spends £10 a month now, if she runs out of texts and credit before the end of the month she does without until the next monthly topup. How did you manage to get the K700i for £69.99? The price on the o2 website shows it as £89.99 reduced to £79.99.0 -
Eileen
Thanks for clarifying that. Definitely when the £10 is up its up.
Re the K700i on the 02 site, I've checked my paperwork and definintely £69.99 (it did say 89.99 and when you clicked on it it reduced to £69.99 - but I've just checked again on the site and its only at £89.99, I can't even see it at £79.99.
Hey hey, not like me to be so lucky

Yes, you've done well there, I don't know how you did it. I've just clicked through all the screens and it still comes up as £79.99.0
