They're hardly going to advertise price rises!
Well they should. It's about common courtesy or does it not bother you as a consumer?

Like i said, i stand corrected. Wasn't the topic though was it, so thanks for commenting on an entirely different issue.

You raised the topic of profit margins at supermarkets

they could tell us though couldn't they?

    Why??

"shop at tescos this week, due to the rising cost of oil our diesel is more expensive and we've had to put prices up a bit, also grain futures have gone through the roof so expect bread to be up a bit too"

Would not make much of an advert...

Withabix, i hope you can fit your head through the door as you seem to have a brain the size of Cardiff. How pleased and smug you must be every day what with being the cleverest person in the world.

Calm down dear, it's only a discussion...

Well i know the degradation of society is obviously evident these days and if i'm in the minority who seems to care then i digress. I shall be a good boy and just accept it because everyone else does.
What sort of idiot am i as to care so much?

If my local bakers can do it, why can't Sainsbury's et al?

No it isn't. I ranted and all the clever people got up to pi55 on it, so if you'll excuse me dear, it isn't a discussion, it's a parade of all the geniuses who have nothing else to do.

You really don't like other people's opinions do you, especially when they aren't the same as yours?

So everyone who is not you is a genius?

Prices go up all the time, it is called inflation, and a sign at the front of the door explaining this would insult me more than a sign saying prices are "sneakily" being put up.

It would also become redundant after one day.

The reason bakers etc have the sign is because regular customers will have the correct change ready, or the bakery thinks that the customers will act like you and go to another shop.

The difference betwen the baker and the supermarket is that the supermarket will put their prices back down if things become cheaper.
