He'll be back in a minute to make you a cup of tea before he paints your toe-nails for you, won't he?

I can see that you're not necessarily a lucky woman, it's that you've trained him properly from the start. Good for you!

funny you should mention that - one of the things I first said to him when he moved in was that I would consider hoovering as foreplay :p

don't give him the impression that ironing is part of the service... make him do his own.

Your mum probably hid it, so I'd blame her if I were you...

Both excellent points :D I shall henceforth blame my mum for hoover hiding, and that's why the house won't be hoovered next time she comes round ;)

As for the ironing - I'm going with it being a fair trade for the washing up, taking out the bins and dusting (all jobs I hate even more than ironing :rotfl:) - suppose I had to give in on something!

I've not been on the OS board long, so I don't know if I'm just really lazy, or haven't yet got into the swing of things ;)

Managed to defrost the freezer today (more ice than food in there )... But I haven't cleaned the oven, there's a mountain of washing to do, and another thread has just reminded me that I really should change the bedlinen :shhh:

Think it's time to resurrect this thread.

Although I've done some housework today, it was only because I could see I had to do it. Having not vacuumed the stairs since December or vacuumed our bedroom in as long or in fact cleaned the bath properly in about four weeks, I felt maybe I should get on with it.

Seriously though, it is not my favourite way of spending time.;):D And I love to read the posts of others who feel the same as me i.e. that there are so many better things we could be doing and that a lot of housework could be left a lot longer than people realise. And also that it's not worth stressing over either.. well not too regularly anyway:D

And I have made brownies and Cornish Fairings today, but the living room is a pit and I'm going to a friend's for a Chinese tonight. Just noticed the patio doors are covered in tiny paw prints from where His Majesty does his "I want to come in, Mummy" dance.....

I have been ill all week with a nasty bug and have regularly looked at the housework then ignored it. Today I cleaned very quickly then thought 'blow it' the sun was shining, picked up Dgs and went for a walk round the garden centre. I am definately feeling tired off it all. Hoping to be better tomorrow then I can actually finish my sewing and the 8 million other things I have to do! :o

  • I have 5 loads of washing sat waiting in my kitchen and the washing machine is empty!

I have a pile of washing up from dinner to do

Ther e is a big sticky patch on my living room floor from where my daughter spilt a drink this morning...i just keep stepping over it.

I have about 6 things in my fridge that needs throwing out :(

and lastly i still have my plate of half eaten food sat next to me from when i ate dinner about 3 hours ago!

I really should get off my backside...
  • I have a huge mountain of ironing. Instead of tackling it, I am drinking Rose and reading threads on the OS board.
