We haven't sat at the diningroom table for about 4 months now. I bought a load of new linen, curtains and accessories to use in our bedroom, once the wallpaper has been stripped and re-done. It is all on the table.
We haven't even started to strip the wallpaper yet.:o
My fruit bowl has 3 oranges, 2 bananas and 5 charity bags that have been popped through the letter box, in it.
If we don't start to clear the loft soon, it will fall in on our heads:eek:
I very enthusiastically bought myself a halogen oven before Christmas. I haven't yet used it. I think I feel a bit intimadated by it.:(
Oh and it is 10.30am and I am still in bed.
Well, it IS a Bank holiday!:laugh:Felines are my favourite

Eh, I'd make a cuppa and have a sit-down while I got to grips with that hand-sewing for an hour or so. Kitchens just need doing again as soon as your back is turned, so why do it twice?0

I have a theory that kitchens get themselves dirty all by themselves so sometimes it's sensible to just let it be. That hand-sewing can be got done in a few one-hour sit-down sessions I expect so I'd look at it like a reward for getting some cleaning and tidying done first. Not too much mind! It's a Bank Holiday after all.0

I have a pile of ironing that's been sat there for weeks (I don't iron, but recently acquired a BF with the nasty habit of wearing shirts to work:rotfl:)
3 weekends ago I did the weeding. The weeds are still in a carrier bag in the garden, waiting for me to take them to the tip... Or throw them in the rubbish, which is more likely
I promised to make cakes or cookies today but I have no eggs. The shop is 2 doors away, but putting my shoes on is too much effort
As for hoovering.... I'm not even sure where my hoover is. Last seen when my mum came to visit (ashamed to admit that was over 3 weeks ago)

Thankyou for this thread ! I'm usually not the laziest of people - I cook from scratch most days & the house is mostly presentable. However today I have been feeling terribly terribly guilty: I didn't venture downstairs today until about 11AM, where upon I did my one household duty for the day - I put the washing on. Other than that, I have been laying on the sofa, in front of "The Darling Buds of May" and done _nothing_ else. DH, apart from working 5 hours from home today, has hung out the washing, unloaded the dishwasher, re-loaded the dishwasher, hoovered upstairs, and has now swapped the cars around and gone out to get a few bags of shopping for the week. I feel ashamed, but not enough to actually get up & dust......

What a lovely husband. Can I have a loan of him some time?0

Ah sorry, he's not for loan
He is a genuine gem though - went from living with his mum to living with me. Never lifted a finger for his dear old mum, but is approaching domestic god standards now that he lives here with me!
Update: he's now returned from shopping and shouted up to me that he's off to take the recycling out. Ho hum - wonder when I'll get guilty enough to clean the bathroom?

He'll be back in a minute to make you a cup of tea before he paints your toe-nails for you, won't he?
I can see that you're not necessarily a lucky woman, it's that you've trained him properly from the start. Good for you!0
