  • I always feel at home here, I can't remember when I washed the floors - It was probably the start of January and I can see doggy pawprints.

OH ran the hoover around the other day and I have just run the old fashioned carpet sweeper over the rugs and the obvious bits in Dad's part of the house.

I've been looking around the bathroom for the last three weeks and thinking that it needs cleaning....I've wiped around the sink and the loo a couple of times but not much more.

Ought to go up and look at the washing basket and/or put away the last lot of stuff I washed but I'm not sure I can be bothered

I feel terrible about this but here goes:

My son has been ill this weekend, there was some fruit that needed using in the fruit bowl. My youngest son got grumpy as I was going to stew the fruit....so I threw it in the bin :(

For the past three years, clearing out our loft has been high up on our "Action List". It still hasn't been done, due mainly to my OH's aversion to facing up to the realities that things stored up there which " might come in useful one day", never actually have been used. Simply because of the fact that once they've been put up there we've forgotten we've even got the damned things.
I'm really hoping that this year we may actually get round to doing something about it.

I've noticed that if I clean this week, then next week it needs cleaning again. However, if I don't clean this week, it still needs cleaning next week. I therefore conclude that cleaning this week must be a waste of time. I'll be going out instead!

I follow this approach too :rotfl:If it's still gonna need doing next week, why bother this week :D

I would also say it's far more satisfying to do housework less frequently, as it is more noticeable when it has been done:D

Just a quick update on the "not cleaned the oven for 2 years" comment I made a year ago...still not cleaned it...bought a new one instead!! Hurrah!

House looking remarkably tidy at the moment. We blitzed it 2 weeks ago for friends coming over and have swished and swiped every day since. You can still see our dining table which is nothing short of a miracle thisfar down the line!!!

My mother thinks I'm a slattern because I don't iron my duvet covers. (Let's not tell her I don't iron *anything*, huh? It's just that she doesn't see most of the stuff I don't iron...)

I tell her - you sleep in them, they get creased....why iron them? :rotfl:
