When my kids were younger I used to buy those small bags of Thorntons chocs and hide them to eat by myself. Convinced myself it was too rich for them and they'd not appreciate the quality :rotfl:£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

er - I buy bags of Jelly babies for the grandkids - then hide them from them! I have to find a new hiding place as the youngest GD found my stash on Sat -and very fairly distributed a bag each to her sisters too! Now, I have no Jelly babies and have to think of a new hiding place where neither the grandkids or OH will find them!0

We had a joint of roast beef for dinner which could possibly have fed 4. As we're not very good at portion control and would usually eat the whole thing between 2 of us, I decided that I would save some of the beef for my sandwiches tomorrow (We're trying to reduce the weekly shopping bill).
I put the beef for my sandwiches on a spare plate and called OH into the kitchen to collect his dinner. He promptly looked at his plate and helped himself to some of my sandwich meat as I'd given him less beef than usual (he still had 4 decent sized pieces, and I always make sure our plates are equal).
I wouldn't mind but the plate was already full with veg and potatoes too. He refused to put the beef back even though I told him off and said it was for my sandwiches. So now I'll have to make do with 1 sandwich tomorrow instead of the two I was planning on having!
Whenever we get a feed the family for a fiver offer from Tesco we always end up eating it between the 2 of us too!0 -
I do this with jacket potaotes. I'll cook four big fluffy jackets thinking 'ooh, two for dinner and then two for tomorrow'. They've never yet made it to tomorrow...Emergency savings: 4600
