I want to transfer an old Isa in Barcleys (Transerred over originally from woolwich) to Icesave. opened the account with Icesave and sent the transfer forms off etc. This was done on 7th Feburary. A couple of weeks ago Nothing had moved forward so i rang Icesave asking what was happening was told that as soon as barcleys sent the check they would write to me and let me know.
Now its 22/03 and still nothing way over the 30days!!
What can i do? Who do i goto? whos at fault? HELP!

If they stated it would take 4 weeks don't worry, they will backdate the interest, if they don't, complain

Also things are going to take this long now, with the new financial year looming, they're all busy busy sorting people out.
Give them a ring to see whats happening jst for a checkup

The 30 day "maximum" period allowed for transferring ISAs out is statutory.
Perhaps if everybody affected by such a delay puts a written complaint direct to Barclays then Barclays will wish they had allowed people to transfer from Tax Beater ISA to Tax Haven ISA.
As some ISA providers tend to blame each other it would be a good idea IMO for people to ask the new ISA provider to state in writing the date that they contacted Barclays Bank.
Even if no financial loss is incurred people can site stress/worry/phone calls/ time spent posting on forums asking advice etc incurred chasing up something that they shouldnt have had to chase up in the first place.0 -
Now thats something I had not thought of. Ill ring up Icesave and request a letter stating this. I think thats an excellent start to my case. Cheers.Happiness is not having what you want...but wanting what you have!!!0

I rang Barclays last Thursday (re transfer from Tax Beater to N'wide) and asked what their backlog is now for transfers out. I was told that they're now working on post received on 28 February, which is interesting, because the week before I'd been told they were working on post received on 29 February, so another week's gone by and they've gone back a day.0 -
I wanted to transfer my Barclays mini cash ISA over to IceSave. Downloaded the transfer-in form, filled it in, popped it into the post on the 8th Feb. Haven't so much as heard a dickybird since. My money is still in Barclays low interest ISA, no future transactions is what's showing up whenever I log into my IceSave ISA account.
If, by the time the 6th April comes and goes, there's been no movement, I'll go elsewhere with my ISA money. No phone calls, no e-mails, no sweat. :cool:0 -

Both, if you ask me. One thing's for sure, Barclays won't have my money for much longer, and as for IceSave, it looks increasingly likely they'll never get to see it at all. I have a fair sum to bank, and if they don't want it, I'll go elsewhere. They lose, I don't.

An update..
Icesave say they are waiting on Barcleys...
Barcleys say they havent received any transfer form from Icesave..!
Do i give up?
This was my first try at a transfer out....Now i see why people get complacent because of the hassle..:eek:Happiness is not having what you want...but wanting what you have!!!0 -
I posted ( to Nationwide BS) my Barclays transfer out instructions to Nationwide BS on 3rd March, I received a closing statement from Barclays today showing that they transacted the transfer out on 26th March which indicates that Barclays are dealing with transfer outs reasonably efficiently. :shocked:0
