And sorry, I didnt realise you were poorly! What's up?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

sounds awful bob - if you have other options I think you should definitely explore them. saw something earlier about lack of discipline at home leading to problems at schools and then apparently parents were ringing in saying the teachers should be able to keep control! weird! so they never get disciplined at home and yet the teacher with limited powers should be able to control 30 odd of them at the same time......Mortgage OP 2025 £7550/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

:grouphug: :kisses3: Aww Bob sorry you're still feeling rough. At least it has forced you to make a decision which, although hard, I'm sure is the right thing to do. Sometimes our bodies are trying to tell us something I'm sure. Have you thought of what you might like to do instead ? XXNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. Teaching isn't all bad, there are some lovely schools and children are children! My last full time class was wonderful and i missed them dreadfully when i had to give up teaching full time to look after dd2. I suppose it is because i keep getting sent to classes like this, that i feel that i want to give up. They don't usually misbehave for long with me- but i hate having to be something I'm not- it leaves a nasty taste in your mouth if you have to go in and be as hard as nails and leave no room for maneuver with them. I know it is different with my own class and also not every school is like this, but i keep getting the feeling of de ja vu when i go in. I think the agency sends me there because they know i can handle them, but it was just too much the other day and believe me some of the schools make you want to run for the hills they are off the wall. I have also worked in special needs schools where the children have a genuine need and yes, they also have their moments but some mainstream children really have no excuse for their behavior.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Yep I know what you mean, i have my very ltd powers. A friend of mine who teaches in Manchester had to go through a police interview and a teaching council interview, all because she kept a group of children back at the end of the day for a telling off-She was accused of pushing them and one little delight reported it to the head and that was the end result. she was cleared by the way and the interesting fact which emerged was that the same child had done the same thing to over three teachers!! Makes you wonder doesn't it? She is completely sickened by the lack of support given.skint_spice wrote: »sounds awful bob - if you have other options I think you should definitely explore them. saw something earlier about lack of discipline at home leading to problems at schools and then apparently parents were ringing in saying the teachers should be able to keep control! weird! so they never get disciplined at home and yet the teacher with limited powers should be able to control 30 odd of them at the same time......
