Very much recommend Bosch. Pricey to buy, yes noisy to run but hardy.
Do lots of price comparisons and you should be able to get a good deal.

I forgot to add that my Hotpoint has leaked a few times - once into my neighbours flat below.
Consequently I only turn it on if I'm in the room - I'd be mortified if I flooded his home. 0 -
Oooooh glad the wm discussion is still going strong!:D
My Zannusi was finally fixed just over a week ago and so far (touch wood) it's behaving itself. I'm going to order a new wm in May from John Lewis using Quidco so that I can earn some extra money.
I think it will be the cheapest Bosch around £299. After looking at the picture of it, it does appear to have a small digital display and a knob but I'm not sure if this will give me more potential problems but I don't think Bosch make wm without digital displays?

Try and negotiate on a warranty if you can - not everyone likes them but sometimes that's where you can do a deal.
You'd probably be hard pushed to find a Bosch without a digi display now (but I may be wrong as they may be some models out there). Personally, I wouldn't worry.
Could you use a discount code and the Quidco at John Lewis.

I went ahead and bought the Bosch WAE24363GB washing machine two weeks ago and am very happy with it.
Apparently all machines are cold fill only nowadays. One minor problem is that because machines now use so little water the 'filler' in soap powders may not dissolve and on dark washing there seem to be white specks all over it (which do brush off). I was told to just use less powder but I think I will go over to liquid anyway. It has a little display on the front but that only says which wash I have chosen and how long it has left before it is done (very useful if waiting to go out). It also beeps to let me know it has finished so I don't go into the kitchen at tea time and remember a load I have forgotten to hang out.0 -
Hi,
i`ve gone through washing machines like no one else ever before
the ones i`ve had are hotpoint, indesit, candy and whirlpool - never again.
I waited until an AEG was on offer and bought that and i`ve never looked back, that was 5 years ago and it`s never gone wrong at all. I hope i`ve not jinxed it by saying that now
I paid just under £250 for it from an offer at Currys so my advice is wait until a good one comes up on sale.
If you`re not in too much of a hurry you will eventually get one.
My machine goes on every single day at least once and it gets some right hammer
Good luck
SD
PS it`s also the only one that dosen`t sound like concorde coming in to land when it spins after 12 months use either - it`s still almost silentPlanning on starting the GC again soon

On the powder front, do not use the plastic measures provided by the company. Use a container to help you use less powder, such as a measuring cup for pet food and obviously only use it for that purpose then. See if that helps.
Also, if the beeping is annoying the machines do have the facility to turn it off. One for the manual.

Well, I had an Indesit for over 10 years, replaced it with a Hotpoint which only lasted 5 years and have just changed back to Indesit. The DW is Indesit as well after a dodgy Hotpoint one as well.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
