So what is your point and why did you see fit to critiscise my posts?

"I did not say it was for reason of rate change, just suggesting it may be too late for OP to apply for this year. Personally I doubt NW will change their ISA rates by more than 0.25% + or -
Obviously NW need to revise the guide for next year (in line with changes to rules), but why remove the guides / application forms before this tax year ends? I do not believe any other provider has done that .
"
Posters who indicate they are "
" are inviting a clarification response, which is what i provided based on fact.
It was incorrect for u based on fact to in your own words "suggest to O/P that it may be too late to apply for this year."
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/default.htm ( see bottom left of page, same message is in some/all branch windows)
My local branch have run out of ISA product guides/application forms on occasions due to demand, they have also been restocked on numerous occasions.
It is a matter of fact that Nationwide BS dont invite general "online ISA applications" so as a matter of fact no "online ISA application forms" have been withdrawn.
This subsequent post from u is also factually incorrect because people can phone Nationwide Head Office in Swindon for an ISA application form and product guide should their branch not have any available. ( In reality Branches are rarely out of them for more than a few days.)
I would "suggest" that anyone who wants to open a 2007/08 ISA with Nationwide phones their local branch for advice about opening one as many NW branches only open accounts by appointment whether ISA or otherwise, whether the month is March or October.
If NW branches dont actually open process applications then they will merely need time to check applications and ID from non NW potential customers.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am glad you get some satisfaction from critiscising those who are only trying to help.
My comment
is correct and based on reports from a.n.other MSE posters reporting that they could not get application forms either on line or from their branch. As I have said if he can get a form it is not too late to apply. It seems you may be too late for this tax year. NW have withdrawn the online application forms and other MSE posters have reported no forms in branch either.
I was inviting you to justify your earlier sarcastic comment, which seems based on pure speculation?Posters who indicate they are "
" are inviting a response, which is what i provided based on fact.
I resisted from pointing out that this is probably incorrect. For your information, it is not only ISA on line guide/application forms which have been withdrawnThis has probably more to do with the new rules coming into force in April 2008 than anything else.

I have spoken with NW and they have confirmed that the 1 year fixed rate ISA is still available @ 6.15%. Those wanting to apply for NW ISAs who cannot get a form on line or in their local branch, can get a form sent in the post by phoning NW on 08457 302010 / 01793 656789."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

And that was a suggestion that I made in my earlier post.
What is apparent is that their are posters who are used to "what they say goes" in their normal lives and seem to think they can post whatever they want on here and not be corrected as a matter of fact.
Ill leave it to others to read both your earlier posts and mine and determine who was quoting facts.
BTW : Once again Nationwide HAVENT withdrawn any "online application forms" because their is NEVER a facility for non Nationwide Banking customers to apply for a Nationwide ISA online.
HOW DO I APPLY : " APPLY AT YOUR BRANCH"
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/search/DisplayArticle.aspx?article=1424 OR
"Follow this link to Order a leaflet and complete an application form " ( note the words "order a leaflet")
The only thing thats been withdrawn is the facility to READ the "product guide" via an online source. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Transfer in application forms are available to print off online because they are usually behind the counter in NW branches. ( Still available as well................ )
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/search/DisplayArticle.aspx?article=1424
The Instant access and Fixed Rate ISA Product guides havent been withdrawn to have the rates changed because the rates arent printed in them, so its OBVIOUS that the only reason for them to be withdrawn is to revise the non rate information within them or for an online application facility to be made available. ( "Other Non ISA product guides have also been withdrawn", which proves that the online ISA product guides being withdrawn has no relevance to how long the 6.15% rate will be available for or whether its too late to apply for a 2007/08 year ISA which is what u wanted people to believe in post no 4)
This is the initial response that you gave to the O/P which is FACTUALLY INCORRECT as u have now stated yourself.

Your rambling post offers no justification for your probably incorrect sarcastic comment >
I made an observation which you are taking out of context. I am not perfect, but I have better things to do than snipe at other peoples posts. My life is just fine thank you. This has probably more to do with the new rules coming into force in April 2008 than anything else.
