The other day i traveled a 45 mile round trip to see a guy about a job,got there on time only to be told that he wanted a quote there and then so he could ring the person that just bought his house so he could give them a cost of putting right a wall so the sale dident fall through.
He never mentiond this over the phone when he contacted me,so i polightly told him it cost me for his details ect only to be told that he thought rated was a company that just sent people out to quote free of charge!!....im slowly loosing the will to live;)
I just wish rated would charge customers ,even a small charge just so they dont waste peoples time and money.
Good point! It is clear that tradesmen can also be victims of these sites. As per my earlier post, if potential customers were fully informed of the fee-charging structure, maybe they'd think twice before getting someone out to quote.
In your case, it sounds like the customer was blissfully unaware of how this site works, and we weren't fully aware either when we used it.0 -
Sounds unusual. Ordinarily I would expect these tyre places to replace tyres that strictly don't need replacing if anything; but you've had the reverse experience!
There we are! Mine now goes into a local garage for tires, that if anything minor needs doing, they'll just do it, and if it's anything major, they'll phone me first (and I'll probably book it into Dagenham Motors/Gates Ford as I don't want to run a risk of Ford invalidating the warranty)
I've done 92,000 miles in mine since last September, so to keep a car in impeccable condition is important!

I've used rated people and thought it to be an excellent service. My tradesman was excellent, did a great job and I'd use them again.0

Yes, so have I so we were lucky as we both got one of the good tradesmen.
Unfortunately, as others have said, Rated People do not allow bad reviews to be left on their site which is the whole point of using Rated People so it means that people can't rely on the positive feedback and therefore people should be advised not to use the site.0 -

My understanding was that you can leave good or bad reviews - what you can't do is amend reviews.0 -
RatedPeople called me back and said it was against their terms and conditions to have hyperlinks and they were going to delete my feedback but said I could post a follow up - which I did.
I made mention of my dissatisfaction and the CCJ against Premier Loft and Extension as a warning to others.
However I now find that even this has been deleted with any notification to me.
Have you asked them the reason why it was deleted?
Of course the REAL reason doesn't take too much working out, but it would be interesting to see how the wriggle & squirm their way out of it!0 -
As a trade, I have requested that a false negative rating be removed from Rated people and they did it immediately without checking on it at all which surprised my but it was a good thing for us. It was someone who we went out to quote for, emailed a quote the next day which was acknowledged by the customer (by return email) and they left us a really nasty review saying we didn't even bother to turn up.
They were very quick to remove it as I said if it wasn't taken off I would cancel my membership.0 -
i contacted these people, and was assured that their contacts were fully experienced and rated as excellent. I had 2 of these people contact me on the phone, and came to give me a quote, blissfully, I accepted the second quote for decorating my stairs, BUT, I should have picked up on the fact that the other"decorator" asked me to inform rated people that I would not be using him so he could claim his money back!!! They did start the job, and on the second day turned up with other "Workmen" who they claimed they employed on a regular basis. The glossing on the stairs was going on, and my daughter was in the kitchen and saw them pouring gloss from a large tin into a small tray on my decking. Things went from bad to worse and now I have a white stripe around my bedroom ceilings, to cover the paint they had messed up, whilst painting my anaglyptus. We had a simply terrible time and when I askedm them to stop, I was abused verbally, and made to pay £575. I am a disabled pensioner and when I contacted rated people, was told that it was up to me to find out what these peoples work was rated not them, this is a real fiddle, as I have found out that all they do is charge these people £15 for my telephone number, and their rating on this site was put on by one of their girlfriends, and they left me scared that they would come back and have received numerous Emails to rate them, rated people asked me what my problem was with them, as they had done what they claim, sent me 2 people. nobody is policing these sites so WATCH OUT,theres no help after now I need more work done than originally, and Im down over £500.0

I don't trust this type of website either. Part of the problem is that if you DO have a bad experience, are you really going to leave a bad review for an angry skinhead who knows where you live and has access to a lot of dangerous tools?!0
